Funny little guy
Cruz keeps me laughing. Yesterday when Shawn was getting his equipment ready to go skiing Cruz had to put everything on!
Cruz is getting so much better at playing by himself quietly. It is so cute to look into his playroom and see him trying to figure out toys all by himself.
Tonight Cruz performed a new trick....standing on his tractor. It was hard to get mad at him because he was so proud of himself!
Patiently waiting for cookies to come out of the oven!
Daddy and Cruz sharing cookies....finally!

More Christmas Fun
After some rest time at our own home, we went back to join the troops at my moms house for dinner. Cruz had a blast playing with all of their toys. He is so smart and figures out things pretty quickly!
Macy dressed Cruz up in all these necklaces she found!
Cruz just loved this red helmet of Grants. Instead of riding on the skateboard, he found a sled to pretend ride on in the house!
Cruz and the dogs. These are Russ and Ali's dogs and Cruz likes these dogs. I went out to Denver for a week to babysit last February, so Cruz was used to these guys. The dogs were probably thinking, "oh no, here comes the little guy that likes to sit on us, pinch us, and torcher us!"

Christmas 2008
We had our typical morning, wake up, breakfast, and THEN....Cruz saw some of the toys that were sitting out. He LOVES his bike and his new tool bench. He really would have been perfectly happy with just those 2 gifts, in fact, we had to remove the bike so he would try and focus on opening up some of his other gifts. He got lots of fun animals, books, a shaving kit to be like daddy, and some of Shawn's old toys! Overall, a wonderful Christmas....I feel so blessed to be able to even have the money to buy Cruz some gifts. We have a warm home, food to eat, and family...how blessed we really are!!
We went over to my moms and it was mass chaos, but Cruz loved it!
Grant got a skateboard and helmet for Christmas. Cruz really wanted to do it, I actually think he thought he was doing it. He put the helmet on all by himself and stood on the skateboard, granted the skateboard was upside down, but he was still skating!!!! :)
I made my mom a book of all of her and my dads travels over the past 5 years. It was a big project but I really enjoyed doing it. I gathered her itineraries and did the best I could organizing the pictures. We all had a good cry as we flipped through the pages!
Christmas Eve
We had a very nice time Christmas Eve. Shawn worked until about 2 and then he came home and played with Cruz. We went over to my moms about 4:00. Russ, Ali, Georgie (10), Macy (8), Grant (5), and Walt (3) moved into my moms last weekend. They resided in Denver, but my brother Russ found a job in Utah about a month ago. They have bought a home here but they have not sold their Denver home. They moved here with their clothes but they basically left most of their furniture so they can "stage" their Denver home. They are going to live with my mom till school starts for the kids and hopefully their home will sell soon! We had a wonderful Christmas Eve dinner and some yummy dessert. We had a small program and the kids were all very excited. It has been tough without my dad. We all miss him so much, especially my mom. I do feel him close though, but I so desperately wish he was still with us.
Grant and Cruz- I love Grant's shirt! He made it in Kindergarten. It is his hands and his foot that make the reindeer, so cute!
Cruz checking out the grandma's tree, so pretty!
The boys, Shawn, Cruz, and Walt playing ring around the rosey!

Our singer!
We went to church today and Cruz was totally into singing with the congregation. He could even hold a note pretty long. He usually wasn't on the same key and who knows what he was singing about, but he did sing every time the congregation sang!
Daddy set up Cruz's new play table. Cruz has been informed we don't stand on tables, but he thought it was pretty funny when we were setting it up!

Cruz
I took this picture of Cruz sleeping in the car about a week ago. He fell asleep and then put his hand up to prop his head, it was so cute!
The next picture is of some toys Grandpa and Grandma Frye sent to Cruz for St. Nick's Day. St. Nick's Day is celebrated on Dec. 5th. G & G Frye sent a package to Cruz and it was suppose to get here on the 5th and it actually arrived on the 12th, gotta love the postal system!! :) Thank you for the fun toys!
Yesterday Shawn went skiing in the bitter temperatures, while the smarter 2 Fryes stayed at home and played and went to lunch with Grandma R and Rebecca at yummy Cheesecake Factory. Cruz likes to put on all daddy's clothes when he gets home. Yesterday his things were pretty wet so Cruz didn't want to put the helmet totally on his head.
Last night Shawn and Cruz spent some quality boy time going up to Mt. Aire to visit our friends Marc and Cat. They had to take a snowmobile to get to their home, Cruz had a blast!!!

Pictures from last night!
Cruz decided to help himself to daddy's hat and gloves.......in the pictures where his lips are all puckered up, he is saying "cheese"!
Cruz loves to drive this truck around the house. The seat flips to the side and there is a small storage compartment. I find the funniest things in there. Last night, he was trying to fit a bunch of toys and all of his shoes in the compartment. Shawn and I both saw it and started laughing, it was totally overflowing with all of his goodies!

Santa, Sledding, and snack time
We went to visit Santa at South Towne Mall this morning. Cruz was super hyper before going to see Santa so I didn't think he was even going to sit long enough to sit on Santa's lap. When it was our turn I put Cruz on Santa's lap and he actually sat there....he hardly cracked a smile but he did sit still for longer than 5 seconds (which is not often in Cruz's life).
This afternoon we went sledding at a little hill in our neighborhood. Cruz got going faster than I thought he was and I got pretty scared he was going to go into the street, luckily he slowed and stopped before hitting the curb....that could have been interesting. I think next time we will wait for dad to be at the bottom to stop Cruz.
Cute guy eating a snack after being outside.
