One of our many fun bath nights with our cousins Mia and Sasha!
Playing at the park
Ryan and Naomi flew Mia and Sasha out with them to Utah on Thursday afternoon. Friday morning Ryan and Naomi left for Ryan's shows in Atlanta/NY. Mia and Sasha played at our home for the weekend. We went from one party to the next!! Friday morning we all got up and got dressed. By 9:00 a.m. Mia says, "So when are we leaving and doing something fun!" It was kind of nice Friday morning so we went down to the park. We played there for a while and then we went shopping at Target and a Toy store to buy their cousin a birthday gift. All of this sounds really easy to all of you but trust me, it was challenging moving from one thing to the next. We had 3 car seats jammed in the back of the truck. I was lifting kids up and down and trying to get wiggle worm Cruz into the middle seat by having to reach over the other car seats. I know it doesn't sound difficult, but that was the hardest part of the whole day. After the toy store, we hit McDonalds playland for more play time and Happy Meals. We came home to give Cruz his nap and luckily the girls took a rest and watched t.v. for a bit. About 3 o'clock we met the other Utah Raddon kids at the Classic Fun Center. I had never been to this place so I had no idea what to expect, but it was better than I could have imagined. We paid $7 dollars for each kid and they got the run of the place. They had a skating rink which they allowed bikes and scooters on (we brought a vehicle for each kid). Then, the best part, they had this huge room with all these bouncy things and a huge jungle gym up in the air.....it is hard to explain but really cool. We were also given tokens for the video games and Cruz really loved the motorcycle game. There was an actual motorcycle that you sat on to ride.....he was in heaven. He was running from one thing to the next. It was nice to have Macy and Georgia who are older, to help me keep track of Cruz, Mia, and Sasha. The kids were hot and sweating when we finally left that place. Needless to say, everyone slept really well that night!

On Saturday we played at our home in the morning and then met the Utah Raddon's at Chuck E Cheese for Walt's birthday party. More fun for the kids! They liked playing the games and getting tickets. At the end they traded in the tickets for some fun (junky) toys! When we got home to put Cruz down both Mia and Sasha fell fast asleep on the couch! Saturday night we went over to Walt's to watch him open his gifts, eat left over pizza, and have some more yummy birthday cake. And the kids had a blast playing with each other and learning the Wii. Cruz had a blast because he loves their little doggies.

Walt gave out really fun gift bags that had these cool glasses in them. I put them on Cruz that night and he would not take them off. He walked around with them on for like 2 hours, it was hilarious!
Today was rainy/snowy and just plain cold out! We were having a hard time of thinking of something to entertain the kids. Finally we decided to borrow some snow clothes and take them up to Alta to sled. Actually, Shawn took them up and I had a little break. I feel very bad because he said it was hard work with the 3 kids alone and it was tough because the snow hadn't been groomed and he had to carry all of the kids all over the mountain. The kids had fun though and for these 2 California girls, it was probably good to get them in the snow!
Overall, it was really fun. We had a few struggles especially between Cruz and Sasha with sharing. Cruz says "mine" and "no" a lot right now and this weekend didn't help that nasty little habit. He loves those girls though! He is definitely going to miss them. Tonight the girls went with my mom to pick up Naomi and Cruz was walking around the house yelling "Sashy"!
Tomorrow is going to be a little rough!!!

Alta's Last Weekend! (last weekend)
I forgot to download my pictures from the other camera and was surprised to find some of these pictures on the card from last weekend. We met some of our friends up at Alta for a last hurrah barbecue to mark off another great season at Alta. In fact, so great that Alta has enough snow to stay open for another month. I have heard they close down even if there is plenty of snow due to some contractual thing! Cruz had fun hanging out...while we were up the canyon, Yeti was lounging at our pad!
Notice the sippy cup next to Yeti's bow.. Cruz was offering Yeti a drink from his cup. That is how Cruz gives all of his stuffed animals drinks, so why not Yeti!

Our friend Carrie!
Cruz and Alex putting sticks in the slats of the deck!
Cruz and I spent the afternoon with our friend Carrie, her two dogs Body and Harley, and Terena and Alex. We had a great time, but I am so sad for Carrie under the circumstance it had to happen. Carrie was hit on her road bike (by a car) about 2 weeks ago. She has broken several bones in her pelvis and her tail bone. The car was going about 50 mph and if she would have been any further out in the intersection her injury could have been far worse. Carrie is amazing. She is up on crutches and moving around, probably a little too much, but it can be so hard to sit still. Carrie wishes that people would be more aware of bikers. Her attitude is amazing! I want to help her get her message out because really she wants people to learn from her experience!!
Cruz and I brought sandwiches in and Cruz enjoyed sharing his PB&J sandwich with Body. Cruz had a blast with the dogs. It was great to be able to chat with Carrie and have an enjoyable lunch out on on the deck! Terena and Alex came over after Alex woke up from his nap and the boys enjoyed interacting with each other!
None of us were sure what happened here. All of a sudden Cruz just started this terribly sad cry. He got over it quickly but I don't really know why the sad face, it was pretty sad!!!
Thanks to Carrie, she took this picture! I hardly have any pictures of Cruz and I, so thank you Carrie!!

pictures from the past week
Cruz loves to help me clean. Whenever I pull out my mini vacuum or broom Cruz runs into his playroom to get his vacuum and broom. He is such a good helper!
Cruz loves to carry his dog Hector around and sometimes he carry's another one of his stuffed animal friends. This day Cruz was carrying Hector and his smaller doggy. It was getting hard to carry both so we put the dogs inside Cruz's coat. This picture didn't turn out too great but I had to show it because Cruz walked around most of the day like this!
Cruz was rocking out one night on his xylophone (which was Shawn's when he was little) with the mallet and hammer.....and he had his ghetto blaster going too! Shawn and I were both busting up!
On Wednesday we got hit with a real winter storm. Everything looked so beautiful but my poor flowers were covered in snow. Luckily now we are on the warming trend again!
This is from dinner tonight. We had tomato soup and we put some noodles in his to make his more interesting. He is such a little turkey, that is what I call him. He is always wanting to laugh and make people laugh. He is one funny kid. In this picture Cruz is saying cheese and closing his eyes....that is one of his new faces.
This morning I heard him making noises so I went in to get him for the day. He was standing in his crib naked except for his diaper (luckily he kept that on)!! He had taken off his sleeper and thrown it on the floor....that was a first!!!

Easter Weekend
Easter Egg Hunt at Wheeler Farms
We had an enjoyable Easter weekend. On Saturday we went to a little Easter Carnival/Egg Hunt at Wheeler Farms. It wasn't great weather so we decided to go to an Egg Hunt that was early incase it rained. Cruz really doesn't get what this is all about but he had fun because there were lots of people around, candy, fun things to do, animals, bunnies, and space to run around in. Today we had fun helping Cruz find his Easter basket. He really didn't have too much in his basket...a chocolate candy, 2 taffy's, and a Siku snowmobile. It is interesting because in my family we always found the eggs that were hidden but in Shawn's family they hid the baskets. Shawn and I hadn't really discussed this and this morning we just decided to hide the basket. Shawn and Cruz did dye a few eggs last night and so we ate those today. We had a nice time going to church and spending the day with each other. We went to my moms house for dinner. Rebecca and Russ joined us (Ali and the kids were in Denver for their spring break). Cruz had on an adorable Easter outfit today and I forgot to take a picture of it....He had kahkis with little dogs on it, a blue sweater with a dog on it, and cute green alligator crocs.
Cruz is getting to be his own little person. This week my mom watched him a bunch because I was subbing and in school. I miss the funny things Cruz does throughout the day when I am not with him. My mom told me that the other morning he was trying to pick up his dog Hector with his hands in his pockets. We just taught Cruz how to put his hands in his ppckets and now he has to do it all the time even when he is trying to pick stuff up!

Cruz's Kitchen
Cruz got his very own kitchen this weekend and he even helped daddy put it together. I know it looks like we are totally spoiling our child and we probably are, but I do have a good excuse. Shawn's mom has been running a speciality/collectibles store in New Berlin, Wisconsin. She along with her her dad who originally ran Finch's Nest, decided to close the doors at the end of April after 25 great years. I had one chance to order items that she could get for us at a reduced price. Needless to say Cruz is set for a few years in the toys/game department. We tried not to go too crazy but we did try to think ahead and determine what he would like in 5 to 10 years in terms of games and toys. Our little chef has been cooking up some tasty treats!!

Skiing and So Cupcake
Cruz and I met our friends Cat, Yeti the dog, Sherri, Carrie, Harley the dog, and Body the dog up Millcreek Canyon to skin and snowshoe. It was beautiful! It was snowing and the dogs were having a blast. About half way up the canyon Cruz got pretty angry and cold so we turned around and waited for the gang at the bottom.
Yeti!
After our adventure we went to this new cupcake place in SLC. The cupcakes were so yummy, thus the name "So Cupcake"!
Carrie and Cruz
Cruz was a little tired and cranky near the end of the day because he got a short nap so he decided to lay down in the middle of the cupcake store!

Kitchen Cabinets
BEFORE
Our kitchen cabinets were this pink white wash look-not horrible but not the look we really wanted. The problem was, they are in great shape and very functional so we really couldn't justify even looking into new cabinets. We decided to do a test run and stain the inside of one of the cabinets. We ended up liking it and it was a less expensive option to fixing "the look" in our kitchen. We had the guys that helped us paint some of our rooms in our home stain/paint the cabinets. I feel a little out of sorts this week because my kitchen was torn up and it was kind of a last minute decision. What do you think? We like it!
AFTER-still messy but you get the idea....waiting for some of them to dry still!
