Ida-hooo

That is how Cruz says Idaho....it is really cute. He was super excited to go to the cabin this weekend. He kept saying, "cabin", "jump on trampoline" "atv" "horses". He really does love it there. We crossed paths with Grandma Raddon Friday morning and we were able to go on a hike altogether before she took off back for Salt Lake. It was a fun weekend of ATV riding, feeding horses, playing on the trampoline, getting Casey time in, playing with Yeti, bike riding, floating the river, fishing, surfing, barefooting, wakeboarding, hiking, etc.

Making Soup

Cruz let me take a couple pictures of him making soup today. The kid LOVES soup, and really it can be any type of soup, clam chowder, tortilla soup, tomato soup, taco soup, you name it and if you say it is soup, he will probably eat it. Other foods Cruz really likes is bagels, pizza, raisin bran, chocolate milk and beets. He is not that into tomatoes though, I think it is the texture! Other cute things Cruz is saying, when he says the word "o.k." it comes out "o.tay". I love when he says that, it makes me laugh! He also says "please" like "peas". I can't think of any others off the top of my head. We are working on pronounciation of words but sometimes they come out so cute sounding! He is talking up a storm though! And he has a little problem with volume control. Sometimes he talks soooo loud. We are working on inside voice. Lots of times he will repeat what you say with kind of a questioning intonation at the end. I love that. In swimming he repeats his teacher a lot and I can tell she kind of gets the giggles when he does it too!

Hat?

So Cruz has the funniest little personality ever, well, maybe I am the only one that thinks he does but he sure does keep me laughing. I ran into TJ Maxx for 2 minutes this morning to look for one quick thing. I saw the little boys underwear on sale for a very good deal and they had some Lightning McQuenn one's too! I bought Cruz the 3 pack and told him we can wear these once we can go to the bathroom on the toilet. We are slowly starting to potty train but I thought these underwear might be a good insentive. When we got to the car he really wanted to open them up, so I opened them for him. He started to take off his shoes and he really wanted to wear them. I was trying to explain while I was driving that we could try them on when we got home but he couldn't wear them until we went pee pee and pooh pooh on the potty! After about 5 minutes I looked back and this is what I saw. I know I shouldn't encourage this behavior but at the red light I quickly got out my camera and flashed a few pictures. He was calling them his new hat!!

Tour De Utah

Yesterday was one of the final stages of the Tour of Utah. It ended up at the top of Snowbird! We went with some of our good friends to watch the finish of the race. It was a blast, but REALLY hot!

4th Anniversary

I love the picture above of our little family. We asked Cruz if he wanted daddy to hold him for the picture or if he wanted to stand. Of course, stand was his reply. Celebrating our 4th wedding anniversary yesterday, the 19th, it was amazing to reflect on how fast 4 years can go by and how much has changed in our life! First of all, 4 years ago on the 19th of August I married the love of my life. Shawn continues to be an amazing husband. A little over 2 years ago our family changed from 2 to 3 with the addition of Cruz. Cruz has been such a blessing in our house. We love our little man. I have been amazed at how good a father Shawn is too. I don't think I expected anything but the best but he certainly is a great daddy to his main man and BFF. Shawn and I both agreed last night at dinner that probably the most amazing thing that has happened in our life in the past 4 years was the birth of Cruz, truly incredible! And on this 4th anniversary we await the arrival of our little girl due in November. So our family will move from 3 to 4. We have been through fixing up our first house, selling our first house, finding a truly great home to move to, moving, fixing up another home, and working and spending time as a family. We also lost someone I love dearly in my life, my dad. And we continue to learn and grow as individuals and as a family.

Shawn and I celebrated by taking a motorcycle ride up and over Guardmans Pass to Park City. We found a cute little Bistro to have dinner at and just enjoyed some quiet time together. We enjoyed a very beautiful sunset on our ride back home, too. Luckily my mom is as supportive as she has ever been and was willing to watch Cruz. Actually, Grandma loves to have some Cruzy time all by herself too!

I am so grateful for our little family!

Our first trip to Lagoon

Cruz and I went to Lagoon today with Aunt Ali, Georgia, Macy, Grant, Walt, and a friend of theirs. Ali had an extra bounce back pass that was only $10 for me to get in and since Cruz is only 2 his ticket was a little less expensive. I decided to go since we had the opportunity, plus I thought it would be fun with the cousins. We really didn't stay together too much, but it was nice to have a meeting spot with them at the water park. Actually, Walt and Cruz ended up riding on some of the little kid rides together. It was a struggle for Walt because he was tall enough to go with the big kids and he really wanted to but I think deep down he liked the little kid rides better, not so scary! Cruz had a blast! The 2 of us even went on one ride that was pretty fast and I kept asking him if he really wanted to go, even after watching it go around and he would say, "yah"! He didn't love that one but he really loved most of the other rides. I swear the kid has no fear. He would just run from ride to ride. At the amusement park they have a water park too! Cruz and I played at the pool for a while too, we also went around the lazy river. At about 3 we left and I had not even backed out of my parking spot and Cruz was out! He was a really good boy the whole day but I could tell he was getting tired!!!

Huge Sunflower

We have a huge sunflower growing in our garden. This is Cruz standing next to it!

Big Boy Bed!

Putting the bed together!

We set up Cruz's new bed yesterday and he actually took a nap in it and went to bed with in it yesterday, JUST FINE!!! :) Russ and Ali gave us an extra twin bed they had. It was white and we decided to paint it brown. Throughout the week Shawn sanded and painted the bed. Yesterday was a little chilly and not too great outside so we took the day to set up Cruz's room. Cruz and Shawn put the bed together and then we moved in a bookshelf and a dresser to match. All the white nursery furniture was moved across the way and still needs to be arranged. We got the bed set up just in time for Cruz's nap. I was very interested to see what would happen but he was so tired he went right to sleep. He was great at bedtime too. Good job little man!
First test try on the bed!
Finished product!

Love

I love my little man Cruz so much. He is so funny and cute and clever and just dang cool! Sometimes I get worried that I won't be able to love another child this much, but I have heard people say you love the other ones that come along just as much! I just want Cruz to know how much I really do love him. I don't know what I would do without him in my life. He has been tagging along on my errands to do research on a few baby items we need and he is such a good sport. I am so excited for this new baby and I do believe that when she enters this world my heart will swell and be able to love her just like it instantly happened with Cruz. But I want Cruz to know that I still love him just as much too!

Trick My Motorcycle!

There is a show on one of the tv channels called "Trick My Truck". The guys on the show do all these cool things to beat up trucks. Shawn's motorcycle is definitely not beat up but he did come up with a cool little invention. He made a bike rack for the back of his motorcycle. He was taking his motorcycle in to get fixed the other day and instead of arranging rides, he just decided to bring his road bike along and bike to and from work. He put his mind to this project and finished in one night. I think there are some adjustments he still wants to make but I thought he was very creative!
