Poor Babies

We have had a run of bad luck in this household this last week (in the grand scheme of things, nothing serious, but just annoying!). LAST TUESDAY - Cruz fell and hit his head pretty bad!
THURSDAY - Cruz fell and hit his chin pretty good, two hours later massive vomiting!
THURSDAY/FRIDAY - Cruz has the stomach flu
SATURDAY - Cruz feeling better but we think we are out of the woods. Saturday evening, diarrhea back.
SUNDAY - Cruz woke up feeling good, went to church, threw up at dads birthday dinner at Grammy's.
MONDAY - Dad's birthday, Cruz seems better but lethargic. Went to our favorite pizza place for dinner and Cruz screamed the entire time that his left ear hurt. Took Cruz to insta-care that night, ear infection in left ear....on amoxaxillian. Screamed and cried several times throughout the night.
TUESDAY - Shawn went into Alegra's room in the morning to find vomit in her crib and diarrhea.
TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY - Alegra has the stomach flu pretty bad.
WEDNESDAY - Woke up to Alegra having a fever but she seems to be acting better and liquids and crackers are staying in her system (unfortunately, I feel like I have a sinus infection, hopefully it will go away).

Let's hope we are coming out of the woods! :)

HAPPY BIRTHDAY SHAWN!!!

Shawn is 34 years old today. Happy birthday! Shawn is the best husband, father, friend, lego builder, worker, athlete, and so many more things. We love you dad!! We had a big Sunday dinner together last night with my mom, Rebecca, Ali, Russ, Georgia, Grant, Walt, and us. I made a chocolate cake for Shawn and we all sang "happy birthday". Hope you have a wonderful day today!

We ran to Patagonia with the kiddos on Saturday night. They found ways to entertain themselves. By the way, Patagonia is so cool. When I washed Shawn's down coat (according to instructions) all the feathers clumped together. When we took the jacket in they were willing to replace it. So cool, especially since it is several years old, I just hadn't washed it yet :).

We had a beautiful day here today in Utah and it was nice to get the kids outside to play!





My college roommate and very good friend, Heatherlee, was in town with her family for vacation. They were nice enough to make time to stop by and visit yesterday. It was so fun to see her kids and husband. I hadn't seen her kids in like 6 years. I love those friends you can just pick up like no time has passed. Heather is a friend like that, a lifelong friend.

Alegra is 16 months old today!

Our little lady, sweet pea, Legs.....is 16 months old today!!!!
-she wants to only feed herself ALL the time
-she loves to babble
-she is walking really good now
-she just switched to one nap around 1 p.m. On a good day she will sleep 2.5 to 3 hours
-she loves her brother Cruz
-she has separation anxiety from mom
-she loves her pacy and she still drinks whole milk from a bottle 3 times a day
-she loves her pink blankey
-she loves to play with anything Cruz is playing with and vice versa
-she has gotten a lot of her teeth
-she loves to say "more" and do the sign
-she wants treats whenever Cruz has treats
-she likes to get into things and make a mess :)
-yes, that is marker on her leg in this picture, she likes to take marker caps off...and now draw on herself (needless to say the markers have been moved)
-she loves to laugh
-she has a new addiction to the swing set and wants to go on it all the time (yesterday it was raining and she just pointed to it and whinned)
-she still loves to put hats on her head
-she still has some trouble with constipation so we have to keep a close eye on that situation
-she loves to climb, she is definitely a climber, yesterday she was trying to climb onto the top rack of the dishwasher
-she likes to take books out of Cruz's bookshelf.

There is so much more that makes her so special, that is just the tip of the iceberg! We love you Alegra!

Moral of the story: Don't run with your hands in your jacket pockets!

I went to pick Cruz up from school this morning and as I turned the corner I could see the teacher holding him. He fell when he was coming out of school. All the kids race to see who can get to the front yard first. Cruz fell and bonked his head (because his hands were in his jacket pockets). He has a pretty good goose egg!

St. Patricks's Day

We had fun on St. Patricks Day. A leprechaun showed up at our house in the night and left some hidden gold coins. He left some clues for Cruz to find the chocolate gold coins. We all wore green and Cruz had a fun day at school and playgroup. Cruz wasn't too keen on the green food I was planning for the day. I made his cereal green by putting green food coloring in it and he wouldn't touch it. I was planning green eggs and green mac and cheese for dinner but scraped that idea after the poor reaction in the morning.
Alegra wasn't into posing for a picture St. Patty's morning. Cruz was trying to do his best to hold her, so some of these pictures are so funny.

So, on our flight from Maui to San Francisco Shawn lost his phone. I thought it was a gonner for good. As luck would have it though, the airlines called about a week ago and they found it. Shawn just received his phone 2 days ago and it was fun to see some of the pictures he took in Hawaii.

SNOW!!!

We woke up to at least 18 inches of new snow this morning!!! Shawn happens to be out of town so I was the unfortunate one that had to snow blow and clean off the trampoline. I hadn't used the snow blower yet, it wasn't too bad once I got it started though....just slow going since there was so much snow and it was so heavy....but at least it was pretty!!

Swan Valley in the winter

We went to Swan Valley this weekend to check on the place and go skiing at Grand Targhee. My mom went with us so we took turns sitting in the lodge with Alegra. It was so beautiful up there this weekend. We all loved it.
