Alegra and I went and rode the train around the mall this morning for a little "mommy and daughter" time while Cruz was at school. She kept asking to go on the train so I thought this morning was a good time. She loved every second of it!
Baby update, I am almost 37 weeks. Who knows when this little girl will come? I haven't really started prepping the kids too good, so I probably should start that pretty soon. I have been nesting though and maybe a little moodier with them, so they probably know something is up :)!!!!

Basement Fun!
The "special" delivery!
Cruz's new rock climbing shoes, they are so cute on him!
The basement is getting close to being finished but Shawn and Cruz were able to get the rock climbing wall up this past week. We ordered some crash pads to put on the floor under the wall to break the kids falls and Cruz got his very own pair of rock climbing shoes. The pads and shoes came in the mail this week and the kids have been having a blast using the wall.
The pads have a back pack strap and can be taken to bouldering areas in the mountains. Cruz put one one so of course, Alegra had to put one on.....it was hilarious!

Little Messer and Fish
Alegra helped me make some brownies yesterday. She REALLY enjoyed the batter! She is my little messy kid, she likes to make messes and be dirty, kind of funny!
If you see Alegra in a lot of Hello Kitty shirts, that is because she is obsessed with wearing a kitty shirt. I had one for a while but then Old Navy had some on sale and I picked up a few more just to keep her happy!!!! Only 2 and totally has an opinion on what she wants to wear, sheeesh!
This is some hot chocolate after sledding this morning, again, a little messy! :)
We are helping Aunt Rebecca by taking care of some fish for one of her friends. The kids are very excited about it. We thought it would be a good experiment to see how well they remember to pay attention to these fish!

Happy Valentines Day!!!
We had a wonderful Valentines Day! Cruz had a little party at school and he was able to give all of his school friends a Valentine. He was very excited when I picked him up, he loved showing me all of his special treats. Alegra had a good morning because we went to Little Gym. She LOVES Little Gym! We had a fun afternoon of playing and then Alegra helped Grammy pass out Valentines cookies to her friends while Cruz went with me to my doctor appointment. I am 34 weeks plus a couple of days. I can't believe I am that far along. I feel that big, this pregnancy has just gone fast. We picked Alegra up and went home to fix dinner. While I was making dinner "Cucumber" that is what Cruz keeps calling cupid dropped off a present for the kids. A remote control snowmobile for Cruz and a rocking chair for Alegra. Unfortunately we are having some trouble getting the snowmobile going but he seems to be just fine playing with it. Alegra is really into her rocking chair. Once dad came home we had our Valentines Dinner. Heart shaped pasta, with pink alfredo sauce with ham and peas in it, strawberries, and bread. Cruz told me I needed to write the recipes down so I could make that "pink" dinner each year on Valentines Day. We had a fun evening of exchanging cookies with neighbors and hanging out! I love all my sweethearts in my life!

Big Girl Bed
Alegra's big girl bed has been set up for a week but it wasn't until tonight that she really wanted to sleep in it. So far so good, I am interested to see what happens in the morning. She usually just stands in her crib and calls for me but I wonder if she will know she can get out of her bed or what.
This is how Shawn and I found Alegra at 10 p.m. before we went to bed!
This morning Alegra was a little confused. Shawn went in to check on her at about 7:30 this morning and she was just standing at her door a little sad, probably confused! We made a big deal of what a big girl she was and she turned that frown upside down pretty quick!

Winter Weekend Getaway
Story time with Grammy!
We have been pretty busy around our home with trying to get the basement finished, getting prepared for baby girl, moving furniture, etc. We decided to take a break and go up to Swan Valley, Idaho for the weekend. It was a quick, spur of the moment trip. Grammy wanted to join the fun so we left Friday afternoon and picked Shawn up from work. The kids and Shawn have all been fighting colds, but we decided to go anyway. It is so pretty up there. We got there and had a relaxing Friday evening and Saturday morning. Saturday morning we got the ATV running and Red running and the kids had a blast riding around in those. Shawn even set up a little course around the house for the ATV's with a jump. About 11 a.m. we headed over to Driggs to have a half day skiing at Grand Targhee. I love that resort. I think it is so family friendly. I missed being able to ski with Cruz through eyeball forest, bobsled, candy cane lane, and several other fun tree runs designed for small kids. Grammy, Shawn, and Cruz all had a blast skiing. We brought Alegra's skies and I helped her for a while on those but she really doesn't like to stand on her own skies yet. We had fun walking around, getting hot chocolate, taking a nap in the car, and I brought a sled to pull her around the resort on. I actually couldn't believe how long Cruz skied. He skied most of the afternoon with a short "snack" break. Cruz actually even slid 3 boxes in the terrain park. He was so excited he did that!
After skiing we drove over to Victor to our favorite pizza place. It was pretty busy but they have this hockey game that Cruz loves to play so it wasn't too bad to have to wait. We were headed home just past Pine Creek Pass when we ran into some trouble. I guess Shawn ran over something (neither of us saw anything in the road) but it wiped up and damaged a bunch of things inside the wheel well. Pink fluid was draining out of the back right tire and the back fender was torn off some. We were in the minivan. Typically we drive the truck up to Idaho because we are packing a lot of stuff but since we went for just a short trip we thought it would be nice to have the DVD player for the kids. With minivans our wheel well is closer to the tire so the "thing" did some damage, I was kind of kicking myself because if we were in the truck it really only would have been a flat tire. Oh well, we actually were very lucky and blessed with the entire situation. Once we hit the "thing" Shawn pulled over and realized we had some trouble. We weren't in a great spot but only a few hundred feet up the road there was a large pull off area, which is not common on that stretch of road, plus we were in the flatter part of the drive. Shawn got out of the car to try and walk around to get cell phone service and the first truck that passed pulled over to help us out. He was this really nice guy that had a 6 seater truck, enough room for all of us and was willing to take us to our home since he was headed toward Idaho Falls. We quickly decided that was the best option and transferred the kids seats to his truck. Honestly, we were so lucky. We hardly were on the side of the road. Once we got back to the cabin Shawn lined up a tow truck to pick up the minivan and take it to the Toyota dealership in Idaho Falls. The only thing that wasn't great is that all the rental car places were closed in Idaho Falls for the evening. Shawn was going to try and get a ride with the tow truck driver to Idaho Falls and bring a car back. Our neighbor Burt totally helped out though. He lent Shawn his truck Saturday evening to meet the tow truck driver at the minivan and then this afternoon Burt took all of us into town (Idaho Falls) to the airport to rent a vehicle. We ended up getting a Suburban and it even had a DVD player which made the kids happy. We stopped at our minivan at the dealership to pick up some of our belongings and then hit the road. Honestly, for running into a problem, it actually all turned out pretty smooth. We do need to figure out how we are going to get the minivan back home, but hopefully something will work out or we will head up to Idaho for another weekend getaway!

Projects
We worked on several different projects at our home this weekend. The carpet went in on Friday for our basement stairs and guest bedroom. So, on Saturday Shawn and I moved lots of the things from the upstairs spare bedroom to the basement spare bedroom. That left some room for us to start to set up Alegra's room. We will have to post pictures of both bedrooms. They are still not totally finished but I can start getting things organized for the baby. While we were doing that, the kids really wanted Alegra's easel set up. She got it for Christmas but we have kind of held off on setting it up. So, we finally set it up and the kids have had a blast with it. Alegra and Cruz helped dad put together a TV stand he got from IKEA. The basement is probably about 3 weeks from being finished but we are able to go down and start setting things up which is nice. It was a fun and productive weekend.
She actually knows how to turn this tool on!
Cruz's work of art on the easel!
Cruz still really likes Penguins and since he really likes them Alegra does too!!! We went to the aquarium this week and watched them swim around, it was really fun. The kids both got a little schleik swimming penguin!
Taking a break. Alegra likes to put her socks on her hands, go figure!
This is all of Cruz's art projects from January. He has been getting really good at coloring!
