First Pinewood Derby

It was Cruz's first Pinewood Derby tonight.  He worked very hard on his car. Shawn guided him but Cruz did most of the work.  He picked Brighton colors for his car.

 So Shawn weighed the car with Cruz at his work.  The car was not suppose to be over 5 ounces.  When we weighed it at church it was 4 ounces.  All the other cars were trying to get as close to 5 as possible.  I panicked!! Our friends the Sheranians were standing behind us to weigh.  Phoenix, Cruz's friend, had his grandpa there and he had all these tools and stuff.  He helped us glue some weights on to the back of his car to help it hopefully go faster.  The first few times Cruz raced, he was last.  Then the grandpa oiled his wheels and he started doing much better.  He actually won 1 race (I don't think it was one of the formal races) but he actually got 1st.  That was all Cruz needed, to place well in one race.  Phoenix won the entire Pinewood Derby.  It was a lot of fun!!!!

Allergic to Cats

So Nicole, our neighbors cat, came into our house last night.  We had Cruz quickly grab her and take her out.  A little while later Cruz was itching his eye and before I knew it, his eye had swollen shut.  This picture is from this morning, when it was looking a lot better.  Guess he is allergic to cats!!!

 Summer sent me this picture from Matt's birthday party last summer.  Love this picture of my cute Cruz!!!

Alegra decided to dress Lexi up last night.  She was so cute!

Film Festival and Boys....

We went to the Canyons School District Film Festival on Thursday night.  Cruz's 3rd grade class entered a video and they were 1 of the top 3 films in their category.  Unfortunately, they didn't win, but they were so excited it was cute. After wards the boys were hot and took their shirts off and they were so funny in the back seat!!

Lexi and Matt

 Lexi and Matt LOVE to play with each other.  Matt is a year older than Lexi but they have been playing so well together and they both really like to play with each other.  If it is after school and Cruz is around, Lexi is chop liver to Matt because he loves Cruz, but when it is during the day they are really good buddies.  I went upstairs to put make up on this afternoon when Matt was over and I came down and I could tell they were both upset.  They really never fight.  Matt started to cry and went to the trampoline and Lexi was upset and she came inside.  I got her some cottage cheese and asked her to explain to me what had happened.  She told me they started fighting over who was stronger?  Then she proceeded to tell me that, "Matt broke up with her and that was not nice at all."  I explained to her that it really didn't matter who was stronger and that they are both strong.  I just thought what she said was so cute though, I was laughing inside!

Pinewood Derby

The boys are getting Cruz's car ready for the Pinewood Derby that is coming up next week!  Cruz did all the paining and sanding with just a little help from Shawn!  I love that he designed it before he got started too!

Lacrosse on Brightons Field

Saturday was Brighton Lacrosse day, so all the younger teams got to play their games on the big high school field.  It was a fun experience for Cruz. It was neat to see him out on the high school field!!!

 Shawn is an assistant coach this year.  It is tough because he is traveling a lot this spring but he is home for most of the games.

We had snow on Thursday and Friday this week.  It didn't stick in the value but at the resorts they got close to 2 feet!

Alegra bought herself a new doll

They have knock off American Girl dolls at Target and Alegra was so excited she could buy herself one.  All those lemonade stands paid off.  Actually, I was surprised, the doll was $21, which is cheap compared to an American Girl Doll and it actually looks exactly the same and the hair is softer!

Thursday of Spring Break

We lucked out with good weather this spring break week.  During the first part of the week we had friends in town to play with.  Most everyone is out of town now so I took the kiddos to the Curiosity Museum this morning.  It was REALLY crowded but they still had a blast at both the outside part of it and the inside part!!
