Wheeler Farms

Lexi and I met my friend Tiffany and her daughter Lexi at Wheeler Farms.  Tiffany has a son Cruz's age and we used to live in the same neighborhood as them.  We used to do playdates all the time with the boys and go to all these fun places.  Tiffany and I were both laughing because neither of us had brought our daughters to Wheeler Farms before.  I guess that is the luck of the third child!!

Red Pine Lake

Shawn, Rebecca, and I decided to hike/run to Red Pine Lake last night.  We started at about 6:10 and we weren't sure if we could make it but we wanted to.  It was about 3.5 miles to the lake but we pushed it and got there. It was a fairly dark decent about half the way down, but it was so beautiful!  I wish we had a bit more time to stop and look around and take pictures of the amazing fall leaves.

Lexi

Lexi snuck into Alegra's room and "borrowed" Alegra's soccer uniform to go to her little soccer practice tonight.  She also loves to wear the mismatched socks :).

Primary Program and Alta

Today was the Primary Program at church.  The kids did great on their parts and songs.

After church we drove up to Alta to meet dad (who was on a bike ride).  Cruz and Alegra rode some of an easier trail with Shawn while Lu and I went down and rode by the tow line.  It was a fun afternoon.

Dad bought Lu some new Camo shorts last night while Cruz and I were at the BYU game.  She wanted to wear her camo with camp.  She is a funny kid!

 My biking buddy!
Alegra didn't go on the ride at first but she went and she was so happy when she came down!

A digger in the parking lot!

We went to Grammy's house for dinner tonight with the whole crew (plus Farrah and Rebecca who are in town).  It was a fun dinner and then the kids played a little chalk before bedtime!!

BYU vs. UCLA

We went to the BYU vs. UCLA game last night.  The game didn't start until 8:30.  It was a late game. Grammy ended up having an extra ticket so we invited Wyatt to go with us.  It was kind of a boring game but it is always fun to be in a stadium :).

Lu Cracks me up

I was at my hair appt. this past week and Lu came with me.  My hairdresser was showing me this product and I thought it was so funny that I captured Lexi under the hair dryer...she had to check it out!

Fun Run

Friday was our Fun Run at Granite Elementary for school.

Is it ski season yet?

I was working in the garden this afternoon to get all the raspberry bushes cut back and out to the street before the curb side clean up guys came.  Lexi was busy entertaining herself.  I saw her with the skies at first.  Then she got the poles.  Then she wanted to ski so I took a quick break and got her boots out and helped her get her feet into the boots.  Next thing I know she is slowly walking (she has her edgy wedge on the tips) around the yard with her gear on.  Luckily that entertained her while I was busy.  I just thought it was so funny because the boat is in the background and waterski season is not quite over yet!

As I was cleaning out the one bed a got the other two honeydews.  I couldn't believe it last week when I realized we had honeydew. I don't think I purchased that plant but I did think I planted a pumpkin plant in that spot. I cut into one last week and couldn't believe how yummy it was.  We had another one tonight and they are delicious!!!

Lexi Starts a Soccer Clinic

Poor Lexi has not started things as early as the other 2 just for the mere fact it is hard to find time for her activities, but I found a little soccer clinic Sandy Rec. was holding that fit into our schedule.  She was so excited to go last night.  Shawn took her.  She got her very own soccer ball too.  Shawn and Lexi went out to dinner afterwards together, just the 2 of them.  They then went back to the field to watch little bit of Madivals soccer game.

she also selected the 2 different pair of socks :)

Saturday shenanigans

I went for a run on Saturday morning and when I rounded the  corner I saw this firetruck next to our home.  I got panicked for a second but then realized the firemen were out checking all the fire hydrants.  The one fireman was so cool to the kids as they ran out to greet me and check out what was going on.  They got to sit in the fire truck and ask lots of questions.  I love nice people!!

Saturday afternoon was filled with games.  Cruz had a lacrosse game (Shawn is his coach again) and Cruz played goalie for half the game.  The second half he was on attack and hustled.  He even scored 2 goals.
I didn't get a picture but Alegra had a soccer game shortly after Cruz's lacrosse game. It was a beautiful afternoon to be outside.

Last night was the big rivalry game between BYU and Utah.  It was held at Rice Eccles Stadium.  We got a Papa John's Pizza and hung out and watched the game.  It was really fun day and evening.  I love hanging with my peeps!

We love Murphy

The kids have been in heaven having Murphy at our home.  Lexi plays with him every free second.  Murphy comes to the bus stop every morning, and they just can't get enough of him....it is pretty cute!!

Babysitting Murphy

Grammy left today (Tuesday) to go up to Idaho with her Idaho Friends.  We are babysitting Murphy till she gets home on Friday.  Lexi can't keep her hands off of him, yikes!!! We are all pretty happy about it, except maybe Shawn :( (and possibly me when I have to get up with him early in the morning)

Labor Day Weekend 2016

We had a fun long weekend away.  On Friday after Shawn got home from work we drove to Cedar City.  In the morning we drove over (about 10 minutes) to the Kolob Canyons in Zion National Park. Our options for hikes were a 1 mile hike, a 5 mile hike, or an 8 mile hike.  We decided to go for the 5 mile hike, the Taylor Creek Hike.  We weren't super prepared and the kids had so much fun exploring all the nocks and crany's all over the beginning of the hike that I really didn't think we were going to finish it....but we did.  At the end of the hike, 2.5 miles in there was a double arch area that was super cool!!  Lexi went on Shawn's shoulders some on the way back, but all in all they all did super!!

At the end of the hike we drove to the top of the road to the scenic overlook....so amazing!!
We drove to St. George, about 45 minutes away to get a late lunch.  Then we continued to drive on to Las Vegas.  We got a room through Ryan at the Wynn.  It was his last weekend to play at the Wynn so we decided to check him out and cash in on the free room :).  Once we got checked in we went to the pool for a bit.  After the pool we decided to walk over to the mall that was next door and get some food there.  We could tell the kiddos were pretty tired.  There was a Lego store next to the pizza place we decided to eat at.  Shawn surprised us all and bought the kids all a Lego set to be able to build while we would be at the pool party the following day.  Cruz got this super cool and super $$ Porsch Technic set.  He was in heaven!!!

On Sunday we decided to walk down the strip to some of the hotels.  We thought we were going to make it all the way down to the New York, New York but that was pretty far.  The boys rode the New York New York roller coaster and we checked out the Hershey place.  Shawn took the kids for another swim when we got back and I grabbed the kiddos lunch.  We went to the show later in the afternoon and the kids did great in the room alone....thank goodness for Legos and TV :).  It was a really fun show!!! Ryan had to leave after the show for another 2 more shows in Texas!!!!

Ryan told us when he left that he had so much money that he could spend each weekend he performed.  Since he left right after the show we ended up using his credit and eating at the sushi place Sunday evening and ordering room service to his huge room on Monday morning!!!

Sunday after dinner we took a taxi down to the Bellagio Hotel to see the water show. It is pretty impressive.  There were tons of people though and it took a bit to get through the taxi line to get home.

Our room was super nice but we had a king bed and then a coach in the other part of the room.  The girls slept on the "L" shaped couch and we got a roll away for Cruz.
Breakfast Monday morning.  We went crazy ordering!!!

We went for a quick swim after breakfast and then packed up and hit the road.  It is a bit of a trek to Vegas.  It took us just over 6 hours to get home.  It was such a fun weekend though, totally worth the drive:)!!!
