Made me cry

I got the below text from our neighbor Kathleen.  It seriously made me cry.  I have been feeling really worried about Cruz's position on student council.  He worked really hard last year on his essay and his interview and got the position.  He is the only boy and the rest of the members are girls that are extremely studious and bright.  Cruz is bright but he doesn't take his time to do things to the best of his ability.  I have been worried his 5th grade teacher (after seeing some of his work) is thinking, why did we select this kid.  I would never tell that to Cruz and I shouldn't worry one bit about what people think either.  The funny thing is, I had a phone call from Rachel this morning telling me how kind Cruz has been to her 3rd grade son Bentley these past few weeks at school and then I got this text this afternoon.  I am glad to see that Cruz is exhibiting kindness and respect to hopefully all students.

Kid Variations

I think it is so funny how all our kids are so different.  I just have an example of some of their work.  I have to beg Cruz to slow down and try to write neater, take time to capitalize and punctuate and to re-read his work.  Then there is Alegra, who if she doesn't form a letter completely correct, she erases and starts over.  Everything has to be complete perfection.  The funny thing is, they both drive me crazy (in a good way:)) with how they complete their homework, but on the opposite extremes.

Quiet Time

Yesterday was kind of a quiet day for Lexi and I.  I felt like I could really spend time with her and really enjoy her.  At night, the boys had lacrosse practice and Alegra had a birthday party, so it was just Lexi and I again.  We had such a nice day of just being together.  I hope I can remember these days!!!

Labor Day Weekend 2017

It was a HOT Labor Day weekend, which was perfect for a warm lake day on Saturday.  We surfed, waterskied, wake skating (which was new for us), and surfed.   Such a nice warm day on the lake.

 Saturday night ice cream run!!

Sunday we went to church and then after church we went and hung out at Little Elk to cool off.  The kids had fun trying to catch minos and hanging out by the lake.
