Lexi had LOVED playing basketball with this little team. She really worked hard, practiced on her own, and improved a ton this year.
Fancy pants before the game. I just loved how she looked with her socks pulled up, her cool shoes, and her pose!

puppies, sledding, and ice skating
Last Monday was Presidents Day. The kids had the day off of school. Shawn worked but came home to go on a walk with his friend Matt and Matt's new puppy Roscoe. She was so cute. Later in the day I took the girls sledding over at Eastmont Middle School. The hill isn't super steep but no one was there, which was nice. That night we met Stacey and Esme up in Bountiful at this fun new ice rink Bountiful just put in. They only let about 40 people in per hour with Covid, but Stacey had booked us a spot. The kids had a blast ice skating. It was fun to have Shawn along on our adventure.
Cruz met Roscoe but didn't stay around to get a picture with her.
Cruz went sledding with a couple of his friends at a different hill.
Cruz was also at ice skating but somehow I didn't get a picture of him here either. He seems to be an escape artist. He is getting so big and so cute. Especially since he just cut off his mullet!
I snapped this picture of our house on Thursday after we had a huge storm on Wednesday. The kids had a remote learning day on Wednesday and it literally snowed ALL day. It was so pretty and we desperately need the water.
Found this picture of Alegra on my phone. She is getting to seem like a teenager but then I love when I see her playing with her dolls and her mouses in her mouse house. Time flies.

Valentines Weekend
The weekend started with Lexi having bball practice Friday night. Shawn and I took Olive on a walk during her practice and then were able to watch the last 15 minutes. On Saturday morning Shawn took Cruz up to ski team, I took Alegra to 2 indoor soccer games, and Grammy was able to go watch Lu play in her Junior Jazz bball game. They only allow 1 spectator and we needed help with rides and grammy was more than excited to go watch Lexi play. Lexi played great and they won 16-0. Alegra's games were hard and they lost both games but Alegra did make 2 goals in the second game. Cruz had a great day of fresh powder skiing. They closed the canyon early but luckily Cruz's ski teacher was able to bring him home because I didn't realize the canyon was closing early.
Saturday afternoon walk in the snow, we are finally getting snow. Lexi lost one tooth yesterday and she was complaining of the other side hurting and she suddenly yanked the other side tooth out too. The crazy thing is, it wasn't even that lose.
Lexi, Olive, and I had fun building the snow man!
Saturday night after dinner we realized these 2 were dressed pretty much identical.
Lexi showing off!
Sunday- we had church and then in the afternoon cupid magically found our house again!
The girls got crocs, a swim suit, and a book. Cruz got a swim suit, a new shirt, and a book!
Dad got a new sun hat.
These shots of Cruz skiing were taken last weekend by Shawn!
Alegra did Lexi's hair so cute last week.
We stayed up late binge watching Survivor last night, so we went to bed way too late. We had 9 am church so someone (Lu) was tired. She had a tantrum in the snow and stayed like this for about 40 minutes.
She did pull herself together later in the day and was able to complete her puzzle though.

Valentines Day
Awesome Valentines containers from the girls. Surprised they could make one with covid but happy they had some normalcy. Love these girls
Soccer in St. George
Lexi, Alegra, and I drove down to St. George on Wednesday morning. I was going to wait till after school but the weather was looking worse later (snow and bad roads) so we just decided to skip school and drive down to St. George. I am glad we did because we had great roads and it was just a nice relaxing drive down. We stopped at the Creamery in Beaver for lunch in our car (Covid precautions) and then got to St. George at a decent time.
The girls and I checked into the Ramada and then went to go hike Owens Loop in downtown St. George. After the hike we drove to Target, which was super close to our hotel and grabbed a few things (we bought 2 soft blankets that we love at home because our hotel room and covers were kinda gross). Then we went back tot the room. I ordered Cafe Rio for takeout and walked to get it and then we ate our dinner at a table by the pool. The one nice thing about the Ramada is it is seriously right next to so many things that walking was very doable.
Checking out the pool Thursday morning. Thursday we walked to Einsteins bagels to grab breakfast and kinda walked around. We came back to the hotel and Alegra and Lexi had fun bumming around with the girls that were staying there from her team.
For lunch our team had organized a private room to eat lunch together in. This was awesome! The girls had a blast. Lexi and I found a park during this time and played basketball together.
1st game - Thursday night under the lights. We won the game but lost our PK's. This tournament had PK kicks at the end of each game that helped with point totals. Alegra got an opportunity to kick but her ball hit the side bar :(.
Fun to play under the lights!
Although it was pretty nice during the day, the nights would get pretty cold!2nd game - 11:40 on Friday. The girls played Arsenal. Unfortunately our team didn't look as strong as we normally look and we lost. The team didn't seem that much better than us so that was frustrating. We also lost the PK kicks in this match as well. Coach Rocky rotated through the whole roster for the kicks.
Third game verse Cetlic. We lead most of the game 1-0 but then they got a sneaky goal and we ended up tying 1-1. Alegra got to try another PK but unfortunately it went right to the goalie. We did end up winning the PK's overall. Alegra started crying after her kick but her team was so supportive of her. Tough life lessons to learn.
After 2 games the girls had fun just hanging out and then they started playing a pick up game of soccer all together. We didn't know our fate if we could play in the tournament game on Saturday night until a game on Saturday was played between Arsenal and Celtic.
To pass the time Saturday morning we met for a team hike at the Botanic Gardens and red rocks. I love that these girls like to hang out together!
The families staying at the Ramada had their girls swim. At 3 we learned that we would not be playing in the championship game. We were 1 point away from playing in the game, which is a big bummer. The rest of the families rallied and came to our pool and the girls could finally go in the hot tub. (that was one of Rocky's rules, no hot tubs if playing). Rocky came and broke the news to the girls. They handled it ok. It was fun because they were then able to relax and swim a few more hours. Several families met for outdoor dining at Pizza Limone for dinner and then went to the fields with the girls to watch the Championship game. I think the girls watched the first half and then ended up playing a pick up game of their own.
Fun weekend!
