For the last 2 Wednesdays (he missed last week for golf) and today Cruz volunteered (actually he is not sure if it is a volunteer or a paid position) to help with Tricks to Trails a kids bike camp. They met up at Trailside park today. Today was the first day the girls had nothing going on today so they could join me. We had fun on the pump tracks or as Lexi likes to call them "pumpkin" tracks. She told me she totally "shredded" the trail. It was such a fun morning with the kids. It was really fun to see Cruz interacting with he younger kids. He is really cute with them.

Biking
It was kinda perfect biking weather. It was a bit chilly and looked like it was going to rain but the drops never came.
We spied on Cruz and looked down at his group. Tuesday, June 29, 2021
faces and kid time
On Monday we had a lazy morning. This summer we have been pretty busy with activities, but Monday morning we stayed in our jammies for a bit. I love this little munchkin so much. I love this extra special time I get to spend with my kids during summer break.

Raspberries
Our raspberries came on and Lexi and Shawn were busy picking this weekend. I was able to make 3 batches of jam. Lexi says picking is her "happy place".
While we were gone....
On Saturday Shawn was able to do a bike ride, fix a flat tire on the truck, and take the kids to hit a bucket of balls. Lexi ordered some boxing gloves with her own money and they came Saturday night. She was pretty excited about these.
Recap of Girls camp
Alegra was asked to talked today (Sunday). After we got home from girls camp she wrote a quick recap of our time. Below is the talk she shared in Sacrament meeting. I had to take a picture because she looked so tiny up there!
Good Morning, my name is Alegra Frye. Today I’m going to speak about Girls Camp. We went to Girls Camp this past Friday and Saturday. On Friday we met at Carrie’s house and then went Rock Climbing in Big Cottonwood Canyon. It was my first-time rock climbing and it was a good opportunity to step out of my comfort zone. After rock climbing we went up to the Weavers Cabin to have lunch and set up our sleeping gear in the big tepee in the back yard. We played some fun team building games. Then the leaders introduced the theme of the camp: which was metamorphosis and our symbol for camp was a butterfly. Ann talked about how we as young women have the opportunity to change and grow into the young women our Heavenly Father has created. We did lots of activities throughout camp to help us think about the goals and ideas to help us reach our full potential. After dinner Friday night we got to canoe around Silverfork lake. When we got back to the cabin we had a little talent show and fireside. The bishop and his wife were able to join us. Bishop Sorenson talked to us about how we are all of Great Worth. Saturday morning, we went on a beautiful hike up to a lake. At the lake we all had some quiet time to reflect on ourselves and how we want to grow ourselves. After the hike we had lunch and some free time. Before we left camp, the leaders planned an activity. We did a trust walk with blindfolds into a pretend cave. In the cave, Ann talked about a life changing experience she had. In the cave we got to reflect on what is important in our lives if we were to be stuck in the cave. The cave ended up being Ann’s garage, but it made be me think about how we can’t take our family and friends for granted. Overall, I am so lucky I got to experience girls camp. Girls camp helped me realize that I want to stay close to my Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ. I say these things, in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen
Young Women's Girls Camp
Alegra and I had a fun 2 days at Girls Camp. We went up to the Weavers Cabin in Big Cottonwood Canyon. The girls rock climbed, canoed, played trust games, crafted, slept in a tepee, ate good food, and had fun!

Happenings
Lexi had a really tough, hot game on Tuesday night. I was so proud of how she played. They were a tough team and they ended up with a tie 1-1.
On Wednesday after Lexi's basketball camp we met dad for lunch at his work. The Apollo food truck was there and we had some yummy burgers! I love summertime!!
BYU Golf Camp for Cruz
On Monday mid morning we took Cruz down to Provo to check him into his 5 day 4 night golf camp. My momma heart was so nervous. His friend ended up backing out on him so he didn't know anybody and the kid has never really played golf. I was so proud of him for still wanting to go and for having a good attitude about it. We got him checked in and when we took him to the dorm room, he met his roommate Hunter, who is from Nebraska, and also didn't know anybody. I've briefly talked to Cruz this week but he sounds like he is having a great time. That makes me so happy. This is his first real overnight camp so I pray it goes well.
Cosmo was walking around at check in!
Monday night twinner bike ride up at Snowbird!
Father's Day 2021
Shawn and Lexi had a fun Father's Day weekend. They woke up early (6 a.m.) and headed up to Swan Valley with Tim. They had the whole afternoon on the water. They woke up and headed home on Sunday morning. We were able to celebrate Shawn as a family. We had homemade pizza, Alegra made up a dance, we had gifts, and a little game of PIG.
Cruz decided to do a dance with Olive after Alegra did her dance

Lexi made this cute gift for dad!
We gave him a Greenbay Packers tie and a knock off massage gun!

Avalanche Tournament
Alegra played 2 games on Friday and 1 game on Saturday. This tournament was really tough. We played 2 teams that were really good and lost. The girls are getting used to a bigger field, longer halves, different (more) positioning, new players, and 3 guest players. Today, Saturday we had the consolation game and we played a more evenly matched team. The girls ended winning 1-0. It was nice to end on a positive note after a tough day yesterday. But, lots can be learned from playing hard, good teams and from making mistakes.
Catch up....
Well, I'll do a recap from soonest to latest picture. For some reason I can't seem to load my pictures correct. Alegra and Lexi with me on a Target run! I love each of their unique styles and personalities.
I was invited to a women's birthday lunch for one of my friends. It was fun to get together with the ladies~
Monday night was a scrimmage for Alegra's team against a very good 2008 Premier CFC team. Last weekend we went to the cabin. We invited Bobbi and her 2 girls, Penelope and Vienna and Cruz had his friends (twins) Sam and Luke come. We had such a nice day on the lake on Saturday!
I love when they all play together!!
Bobbi got me a matching Chicago sweatshirt. Bobbi and I met when we were 11 in Chicago.
Cruz thought it was so funny when he pulled my desk chair up to the island to eat!
Lexi and Carmen are in a 3 week, 1 hour long basketball camp together. Its been nice for Lexi to hang out with a friend.
The kids are taking tennis lessons from a guy in our neighborhood. I just have pictures of the girls!
We went to dinner with the Raddon's 2 weeks ago at Grammy's. It was the first time since covid getting all together. Somehow the dancing doll (my grandma, Evelyn Raddon made) surfaced.
Cruz is getting so big!
Shawn and Lexi snuck up to Idaho 2 weeks ago for about 24 hours. Lexi got some good runs in!
Cruz got his second shot on June 3rd! He actually got pretty sick for several days after.
Pool time with Walker and Elle.
Some of the sunsets this summer have been amazing. Where we live sometimes I don't see them but I was driving Cruz to a friends house and I had to get this shot.
