Last Weeks happenings

Saturday - Hiked the Bell Canyon trail from our home to Grammy's! Shawn was fixing the deck and grammy's so we hiked over to meet him and help him.  I ended up running to get burritos and nachos from Lone Star for lunch. It was so pleasant to sit on grammy's deck with grammy and eat a yummy lunch!

Cruz and Andrew's Friday adventure - hiking to the top of Snowbird to get some ski turns in!
Friday night pool party after the Alegra's 1st scrimmage with this team Friday evening!
Summer drink stand
Lexi being cute at Kate Weaver's day camp!
Dinner and a movie on Thursday night with all 5 of us!!! Thursday night I made a plan to go to dinner at Localz (a place I had a gift card to) and go see the 7 p.m. showing of Top Gun Mavirick.  Lexi had to miss practice but I wanted to have a family outing and we have been sooooo busy lately.  It actually ended up raining that night so on the way to dinner I found out her practice was cancelled anyway.  It was so fun to be all together for dinner and then a movie. I actually can't remember the last time or if ever we have done that!  I loved being with my family and I loved the movie.  Such a fun night, bummed I forgot to take a picture!!!

Short and sweet Father's Day Weekend in Idaho

Grammy, the kids, Ezra (who was in town), and I left for Idaho at about noon on Friday.  We hit Maddox for a yummy lunch and then kept on driving.  We got to Idaho at about 5, eat a quick dinner and then Shawn pulled in at about 7.  We quickly loaded the boat up for a night session on the lake.
Cruz found a fishing rode and fished and then ATV'd right away when we got there.  I was so excited!!
Cruz surfing
Ezra and Lexi living their best life!
Shawn trying to find calm water, it was a little rough, which is weird because usually at night it calms down!
Cruz sacrificing his body (the water is sooo cold right now) to try and find the hot springs.  He found a super tiny warm spot but we think the water level might be too high right now.

Cool girl!

Bobbi, Penelope, and Vienna arrived at about 10:45 Friday night.  I am so lame and have no pictures with them. The kids all played so well together the entire weekend.  We kinda let the kids have a lazy morning Saturday morning and Shawn, Grammy, and I worked in the yard!  We packed lunches and headed to the lake at about 11:30.
Shawn took out a bush for grammy!
Everyone got in the water. It was pretty cold!  The sun was out some of the time~
Ezra got up to sing the Father's Day song in the Swan Valley ward so Alegra went up with them. Lexi and I were in the bathroom. I was shocked to walk back in and see them up on the stage :)
We really didn't spoil Shawn too much, which I feel bad about.  He did get a bike ride in in the morning and each of the kids wrote nice notes. We love him so much. He is seriously an awesome father and husband.  His work ethic is like no other!  We love Shawn!

Lots happening last week!

Cruz applied for his first real job.  I took him to Sandy City Hall to fill out paper work and then we had to go to South Jordan for him to get a drug test (urine sample).  Once they get the results back they will email him and he will do an online training, fill out his W2, and then hopefully he will be able to get hours at the Alta Canyon Snack Shack. It has been quite the process.

I also found Cruz down in the weight room earlier this week, yay!!

I, the team will reimburse me, purchased full size nets for their season this year.  First time practicing with them!!
Ruki had a surprise 40th birthday breakfast and hike for Michelle.  It was such a fun morning!!

Alegra started her MilanX Pro soccer training 3 mornings a week.  It was pretty tough and Lexi is living her best life playing baseball in the neighborhood with Deegan and Jess for hours at a time!

Cruz survived AFY :)

Cruz came home from AFY on Saturday morning.  I think he had a pretty good time. It was hot, and they had to wait for some activities, and he had a tent mate (not Andrew) that snored, but when he talked about it, overall he was pretty positive.  I don't think he wants to do it again, but so glad he went and was able to bike, hike, repel, cannoneer, rock climb, hear devotionals, and make friends!

Alegra and Esme

Alegra was able to go spend the night on Saturday night with Esme.  They went and got their nails done, had dinner, and walked around Farmington Station all by themselves!  Because Esme is a bit far away we let Alegra spend the night. I picked her up after church on Sunday. I love this friendship.  They are so cute together.  Soren also got pretty attached to Alegra :)

Cruz got his permit!

We have put this off for a bit (basically I was waiting for Cruz to spend some time studying so he could pass his permit test), but he went and passed the permit test today, one his 1st try!!! Yay Cruz!

Feeling blessed

This week, on Tuesday,  Lexi and I met Shawn for lunch before he headed out of town for the rest of the week.  An intense game of Connect4 was going down while waiting for food!
Bella hung out with Bella pretty much all day on Tuesday between her home and our home.  This was an activity, blind makeup appliqué!
Yesterday, Wednesday I was getting frustrated with the girls because their soccer stuff had been laying around on the main floor all day. I finally kinda broke and was like, "get your stuff downstairs, now!!!!"  They keep their bags and cleats in the basement.  They started screaming and I ran downstairs. Our water was spraying out a heavy stream of water, there was water all over the furnace room floor. I was twisting handles and trying to figure out how to stop it.  I called my neighbor Tammy because sometime Dee is home during the day, but he wasn't home. Tammy called our neighbor Fleming who I had seen drive by earlier.  Tammy and Fleming came over and Fleming figured out which valve to switch off.  It still continued to leak so Lexi and I came up with this hose solution to the drain.  I called Dale, the guy that installed it and luckily he called me back an hour later.  We FaceTime so I could explain what had happened.  He came out this morning to fix a faulty valve. He has never seen that happen before, ugh. We have the same second water heater, hope that valve doesn't go faulty too.  But in all reality, it could have been soooooooooo much worse. Water went on the back side and maybe ruined one baseboard but all in all, we caught it so early, we were very blessed.
We had no water at our house Wednesday night so we went over to shower at Grammy's house. It was the 3 game in the NBA finals between the Celtics and San Francisco, so we stayed and watched the game with her too.  Luckily Dale came this morning and fixed the valve and we are back up to having water, oh I love the modern conveniences we have!!!!

Cruz AFY

Yesterday morning the girls, grammy, and I drove Cruz and Andrew down to Provo to check in for their AFY adventure in Moab.  I hope they have a great time.  They come back Saturday afternoon.

Two cute boys, hope they have a great time!

Grammy, the girls and I then went over to the BYU book store to check it out.  Then we drove over to the River bottoms outdoor mall to eat lunch and go to the "Lonely Ghost" store that Alegra has been wanting to go to!  It was  fun day!

Quick trip to Swan Valley for Shawn, Lexi, and Olive

Alegra and I had a class young women's sleepover at Ann's cabin up Big Cottonwood Canyon on Friday night. Lexi and Shawn decided to head up to Swan Valley to wakeboard and work on a razor.  It was only 65 degrees and the water temperature is still super cold, but Lexi wakeboarded again!  She it tough. They had a nice weekend together in Idaho.

Summertime

The girls with their fake pit vipers that they are so excited about!  Plus Deegan :)
