Fun filled weekend

We had a busy weekend of construction, a play, and a hill climb. The construction in our backyard has been ongoing. If you look back to older posts we decided to put our new trampoline in the ground and I was really unaware of how much work that entailed. Shawn has continued to plug away at our project when he has had time. He rented a small piece of equipment (I am not sure of the name) on Thursday night. Cruz and Shawn started moving some road base that night. Luckily Grammy Raddon was around to help watch Alegra since I had a previous planned engagement. Shawn and Cruz continued to work from after work on Friday until dark and then again in the morning. Luckily our neighbor Tom came over to help grade and compact the ground with Shawn. We are getting closer to being completed. We are actually ready to lay the turf but we are a little slow on ordering it, so it is not here yet.

About noon on Saturday Shawn got cleaned up and we went downtown to the Capital Theater to see "The Lion King". The play is being performed here for about 3 weeks. I think it was about 6 months ago my mom went down and stood in line in cold weather for 2.5 hours to get these tickets. All of the Salt Lake Raddons went (minus Alegra who stayed home with a sitter and Rebecca who had a wedding of her good friend). The play was amazing, the costumes, music, it really all was pretty awesome. Cruz did really well for his first play too. He was into watching the animals and at the beginning and after intermission the people dressed as different African animals came down the aisles too and Cruz was right on an aisle seat. It was a little long and with about 10 minutes left Cruz turned to Shawn and asked if we could go home.....I thought that was pretty good for a 3 year old though! Today was Pedros, our cycling teams, annual ride up Little Cottonwood Canyon road climb. The kids and I watched, cheered and took pictures. The colors are starting to change here so it was absolutely beautiful. Actually, I think it was the warmest year they have had for the ride, it is above 90 degrees today in SLC. Shawn and Cruz stayed up to have the brunch afterwards and Alegra and I ran down to church. Shawn did great on the ride and the kids were excellent in the car too!

Awesome pictures of the ride. When you get a moment, you should post a few on the Pedros Facebook site. Good to see you guys yesterday. We will have to do dinner again soon :)
