Wash Cloth on Head

After I wash Alegra's hands off with the wash cloth she usually likes to take it for a bit to chew on. I think it feels good on her teeth. Anyway, I got busy doing dishes this morning and I looked over to find her playing with the wash cloth on her head. She likes to do this....such a funny little squirt!

She is waving bye bye in this picture.

Goofy with Googles

Shawn was kind enough to watch the kids last night so I could go to the BYU basketball game. ( It was an awesome game and BYU beat 4th seed University of San Diego. The stadium was so loud and it was so exciting.)

Shawn had fun taking pictures (about 50) of Alegra putting on these googles, taking them off, and playing with the weed wacker. I was laughing at all the pictures I am going to post alot because they are so funny. Alegra can be a little goofball. She has a very funny personality. Enjoy the photos!

Time Out Bench

Alegra found the time out bench in our bathroom yesterday. She wasn't in "time out" but she sure was pretty proud of herself to be sitting on the bench. Maybe that will change as she gets older :).

Alegra also took 3 steps all by herself yesterday. She actually stood and balanced on her own 2 feet for a long time and then took 3 steps to me. I actually got it on video too! Yippee Alegra.

Cute things they say....

Two days ago we were reading books in Alegra's room. Cruz had already found a seat in the rocking chair while Alegra and I were looking at which book to read. Alegra and I came over to the rocking chair and I asked Cruz to slide over. As I was sitting down Cruz says, "wow, you have got a big bum". I had to laugh. I can only imagine in his eyes he is sitting in this rocking chair and all he sees is a rear end coming to smash him. We did get configured in the chair so we could all fit, but needless to say, I started exercising again the next day! :)

Yesterday morning Cruz could not find his compass that he had up on his shelf with his "collection". His "collection" is a bunch of random small objects that he likes to keep on some of the top shelfs of his bookshelf. Cruz turned to me and said, "I think we should say a prayer to help find the compass." It was so cute. We said a little prayer that Heavenly Father could help us find the compass. Trust me, yesterday I said about a million little prayers to find that compass. We haven't found it but I am so happy that he knows he can turn to his Heavenly Father when he needs help. I am just sad we haven't found it. I bet it turns up somewhere. I told him we need to be patient....which Cruz likes to tell me all the time, "be patient mom".

Incredible Pizza Company

We decided to go to this place last night called "The Incredible Pizza Company". We had never been there and didn't know too much about it. It ended up being a huge pizza buffet and then a super huge game area. There were all sorts of games. We ended up just getting a game card and skipping out on the pizza buffet (we went early enough we could do that). To me it felt kind of like Vegas. Busy, noisy, and lots of lights. Cruz and Alegra both had a blast. There were all sorts of games to play and even a little play gym area for the kids to run around in. It was a fun family night!

14 months

Alegra turned 14 months old yesterday. I don't know where the time goes. She is getting so big. She actually took her first step tonight. I think she will take off walking in the next few weeks but right now she is kind of tentative. She loves to imitate sounds and noises. She can point to her nose and she can say "good girl", "turtle", "mamma", and "dadda". She loves to play games and she loves be with mommy. I probably baby her more than I did Cruz at this point. Part of it is she doesn't walk and with her bald head she seems younger to me than she is, but who can't help babying their baby :). We love our little Alegra!

Teeth 7 & 8

Alegra just cut her 7th and 8th teeth and it looks like several more are trying to poke through. That could explain the not sleeping so great lately, ouchy! Her 7th poked through a few days ago and it is on the bottom next to the 2 in the center of her mouth. The 8th is one of her back teeth.

A box

Boxes are the best with kids. I got a large order from diapers.com and we received our diapers in this very large box. Thank you diapers.com! It has been a source of great entertainment.

What a cutie! We had a little bit of a scare with her on Sunday. Cruz was in time out on the steps and was being very naughty. Cruz had crawled up to the first landing and Alegra followed him (which I didn't know). I was in the kitchen and all of a sudden I heard this loud thud. I turned around and Alegra was laying flat on her back at the bottom of the stairs on the hard wood floor. I asked Cruz if he pushed her and he said "yes". She started crying and I went to pick her up. The minute I had her in my arms she threw up....she then threw up a little more. Once I got her calmed down I watched her pupils intensely. I was very worried she had a concussion. She acted normal once I got her calmed down but I was still a wreck, very scary! Luckily nothing too serious happened. To say the least I was very upset with Cruz. He was sent to his room for a while and later I tried to explain how serious that could have been.

36

Shawn and I with our sleds (they were actually pretty heavy)! It is hard to see but Shawn and I have a ton of layers on. It was -1 degree when we drove away in the truck last night.

So I turned the big 36 yesterday. About mid day yesterday I realized it was kind of a historic day 1/11/11, kind of cool. I had a wonderful birthday and my friends and family were so kind and thoughtful to me. Shawn and the kids got me a Spa Gift Card, which is amazing! Then Shawn left a treasure map for Cruz and I to find the treasure in the basement, he had gotten a beautiful arrangement of flowers. The treasure hunt was fun too. Cruz is really into finding treasures right now! Grammy took the kids and I out to lunch at Cheesecake Factory and a little shopping at the mall and then to top the night off Shawn and I went to do "The Luge" at the Utah Olympic Ski Park in Park City. Kind of crazy but they were offering a class last night. A few years back Shawn and I went to a ski jumping class there where we learned how to ski jump into the pool. That was very cool but this was even cooler. We rode on the actual Luge track the Olympians ride on. We started a lot lower on the track but we still got up to 45 miles per hour going down the track. I was a little scared but very happy I did it. Plus, I don't think I will ever forget this birthday! I feel very blessed to have so many wonderful friends and an amazing family.

Me in a bobsled. They had this on display at the facility!
Cruz and I made a birthday cake on Monday. Cruz was very concerned about getting to celebrate my birthday, so we celebrated with the kids on Monday night! Cruz kept asking me on Tuesday if it was still my "birkday". For some reason he always says birthday with a "k" instead of a "th". We have been working at it, but some habits are hard to break! :)

Our new tricks!

Alegra is pretty proud of herself. She got on the riding truck all by herself and tooted around the kitchen.

Alegra insisted in putting her dinner in her hair tonight, so after dinner I quickly washed her head off with water. This is her crazy hair after.

Cruz is showing you how he can flip through the pages of his coloring book, "whook it mom, whook, it!" (look it mom, look it!)
