Cousins

Mia, Sasha, Isla, and Aunt Naomi came into town for the week of the 4th. They are taking a break from Ryan's tour while Ryan flies over to Europe for several shows this week. Unfortunately Sasha got the stomach flu early this morning. Hopefully it stops with her!
Isla and Alegra loving each other. Alegra is happy to finally have a friend her age to play with. They are only a couple weeks apart in age.

This is what Cruz looked like when we went to check on him last night at bedtime.

Friend Time

My friend Bobbi was in town from Arizona the last couple of days. The kids and I had fun visiting with her and her kids. They stayed at one of her brothers homes in Alpine, Utah. He has a pool which was awesome. The kids had so much fun swimming together. Bobbi is one of my dearest friends. We have known each other since we were about 12. Her family moved to the Chicago area then. When she was 16 or 17 they moved to Texas, but we have managed to stay friends and have a close relationship all of these years and we have barely lived in the same state together. She has 4 kids (Cy and Isabel (twins) 11, Penelope 6, and Vienna 4). Cruz and Alegra had a ball playing with them. The pool was a good temperature and we all just played. It was fun to be able to catch up with my friend.

swim suit

I had to take the truck in to get serviced the other day. Alegra is really into her swimsuit lately, she has to wear it everywhere we go. This is her at Jerry Seiner Chevrolet.

Summer Fun in Idaho

We took a long weekend and drove up to Idaho on Thursday night. I love leaving Thursday because it makes the weekend seem so much longer. The weather was nice and warm up there too! We took the boat out on Friday to have a picnic lunch but right away we were having trouble, the engine was running too hot. We decided to load the boat back up. Shawn looked at it for a bit but we decided to haul it into Idaho Falls to the place that helped us winterize the boat. This was the first time the boat had been out since it was winterized so we were crossing our fingers it was something they did. Shawn was awesome and made the drive in. Luckily the shop helped us right away and they were able to find a hose that wasn't connected. Shawn got home in time for dinner and then our neighbor Burt and Shawn took the boat out that evening to see if it ran better and luckily it did!! We were in luck. On Saturday we made another picnic lunch and took the boat out. This time with much success. We had a wonderful lunch in a beautiful place on the lake and then I decided to surf and Macy decided to water ski and tub. The water was extremely cold, but I was happy I went. Macy and Grammy were at the cabin the same time we were. It was fun to have Macy around. She played so well with Cruz and Alegra. Besides going on the boat the kids did their usual Idaho stuff. Go on Red, visit the horses (there is a new baby horse in the area and the kids named her Boo and the mama Ida), played on the tramp and swing set, fished some, went in the hot tub a lot (even though it was warm out), played ball, played with Legos, etc. We even had a fire on Saturday night and made s'mores. It was a wonderful weekend!

Goose

Macy nicknamed Alegra "Goose" for Silly Goose. It kind of fits!! :) Alegra has worn training underwear for the last 4 days and done awesome. Not one accident, yet!!! She is still wearing a night time diaper but during the day she is doing so good!!! Good job Alegra!

Notice the scab on her knee. She is out there trying to keep up with Cruz so she has lots of scrapes, scabs, and bruises! She loves to ride her scooter even if she does fall off sometimes!! :)

This is the Place Heritage Park

On Tuesday of last week we went to "This is the Place Heritage Park". My mom works downtown at the Joseph Smith Building on Mondays and lots of visitors to Utah ask about this place and my mom didn't know too much about it, either did I, so we had a field trip and all ventured downtown. It is located just across from the zoo. It was so much fun. You pay a fee to enter and once you are in this small pioneer town the kids can do 3 activities. They can ride a pony, pan for gold, make a craft, and many other activities. There are also a lot of things you can do by just paying the entrance fee. There is a petting zoo and all sorts of buildings the pioneers had during the pioneer times. Everyone is dressed in old time gear. We listened to a black smith talk, we watched Native American Dancers, and went into an old time school house. The kids had sooooo much fun.

Summer Camp

Cruz went to summer camp the past two weeks, Monday thru Thursday from 2:30 to 5:10. Basically it was arts and crafts, snack time, some play time outside, and a small swim lesson. Cruz enjoyed the swim lesson part the best. Thursday was his last day. He was very excited because it was "SlideDiveBoard Day". That is what Cruz called it! He got to go on the slide and the diving board, it was awesome!!

Hanging Out

I have no idea what Alegra was doing but she pulled her stool all the way over to the corner by the front door to drink her chocolate milk, she is so silly! A funny fact about Alegra right now, she has an obsession with kid hangers. She likes to carry 2 around with her at all times, especially going to be. Also, her baby is a very big deal right now. She carries her every where. Pats her, feeds her, puts her on her bike with her, etc. It is pretty cute!

The kids got into the crib with Lexi this morning after her nap. After I took a quick photo I told Cruz and Alegra they really shouldn't climb up into the crib because the crib is on its last leg. Cruz climbed out of the crib go on the floor and says to me, "mom, the crib has all 4 of its legs." He said it in a way like, "come on mom, the crib has all of its legs, get with it!" :) I was totally laughing. I tried to explain to him that I used an expression which means the crib is kind of broken and not going to last too much longer.

I love this picture of Lexi. She does these open mouth smiles that I just want to eat up. She has started laughing too. Not all the time, Cruz is usually the one to get her laugh and it is so cute!!!

Love her, she is 3 months tomorrow. I can't believe how fast the time is flying. I can't hold her, squeeze her, or kiss her enough!!

Mint

We were watering the flowers and the mint this morning and the kids turned the corner and this is how I found them.....they said they loved the smell of mint!! :)

I tried to tell them they shouldn't do that because it might get stuck in their nose, but it was hard to do without giggling!

Georgia and Macy

So Shawn was talking to Cruz about his trip to Georgia a few days ago. The boys then started talking about going camping. Shawn said, "that would be fun to go!" Then Cruz says, "Dad, when you get back from Macy, lets go camping!" I thought that was so funny that Cruz associated Georgia with his cousin instead of a state/ and then thought nothing about switching the names Georgia and Macy!!!

Gettin' it all in!

Shawn had to fly to Georgia this afternoon for work. He is going to be gone until Friday, which is a long time without dad. We skipped out on Church this morning and hung out as a family. Dad had to get all his "small Frye" time in he could. We started out with a pancake breakfast. Dad, the pro pancake maker, constructed each of the kids their first letter out of pancake.
We played around home this morning after breakfast. Lexi is getting so strong and big. She gives you these infectious smiles that are huge and open-mouthed. We tried to capture one but it is tough. She has even started to laugh some.

Alegra was trying to show Lexi baby and have Lexi hold baby

Alegra had classic hair this morning. She had pig tails in yesterday so that kind of explains the craziness! :)

Cruz still plays with his Legos great! He has been into making his own creations which I like (it shows his creativity) and then he likes to take pictures or videos of his creations.

Before dad took off we drove up to Snowbird and the kids rode the Alpine Slide with dad. It was pretty chilly up there but the kids had fun with their daddy!!

The kids and I went to Grammy's house for dinner tonight. Alegra wanted to fix her hair like Grammy does, so I put Grammy's rollers in her hair!
