On Tuesday of last week we went to "This is the Place Heritage Park". My mom works downtown at the Joseph Smith Building on Mondays and lots of visitors to Utah ask about this place and my mom didn't know too much about it, either did I, so we had a field trip and all ventured downtown. It is located just across from the zoo. It was so much fun. You pay a fee to enter and once you are in this small pioneer town the kids can do 3 activities. They can ride a pony, pan for gold, make a craft, and many other activities. There are also a lot of things you can do by just paying the entrance fee. There is a petting zoo and all sorts of buildings the pioneers had during the pioneer times. Everyone is dressed in old time gear. We listened to a black smith talk, we watched Native American Dancers, and went into an old time school house. The kids had sooooo much fun.
