A pretty picture of Rebecca and David

trash bag kids

Cruz and Alegra made these little outfits last night out of Target bags. They are so funny and cute!
I love Alegra looking at Cruz to see what kind of face he was going to make!

Happy 24th of July

The 24th never totally feels like a holiday because Shawn has to work, his company is a National Company, so it doesn't recognize the Mormon Pioneers in Utah like all the local Utah Companies do.  The kids and I along with Grammy went to the SLC parade this morning though.  Although I wasn't looking too forward to it, it ended up being fun and easy. We found a close parking spot, we didn't have to wait to long, and we found pretty good seats close to where we parked.  It was an overcast day, which made sitting outside more comfortable and the kids got into the parade.  There were bands, motorcycles, pioneer families, floats, clowns, etc.  We didn't make the entire thing but pretty close.  We then went to the International House of Pancakes for a breakfast lunch, that was fun.  Grammy was able to watch Lexi so we came home and then the 2 older kids and I went to the movie, Monsters University. All in all it was a fun filled day with the kiddos!  I am so lucky to have them in my life!!

Summer time

Lexi playing baseball with all the kids in the front yard on a summer evening.  We love summer, even though this one has been pretty hot!  Cute things about Lexi right now:  she calls any animal a doggy, she has the cutest big smile and squishes up her eyes, leaned to say "who who" for an owl sound.

Chocolate Cake

We were at a party Saturday night with the kids and they had this huge Chocolate birthday cake.  We had to leave early because Lexi was pretty fussy (she wasn't feeling well).  Cruz really wanted a piece of cake but they hadn't sang Happy Birthday yet, so we told him we couldn't ask for a piece. He was very sad. I promised him I would make him a cake then next day. So on Sunday morning we whipped up a 3 layer chocolate cake!!!  We all have enjoyed it!

As you can tell the kids are into making silly faces ALL the time!

Hot Days

We have had a hot summer, last Monday before we left for Idaho we got out the sprinkler and had some fun!

Unexpected Trip to Idaho

The kids and I decided to join Grammy and her friend Susan Rampton, Susan's ex-husband Richard, Ren (10), and Reec (7).  Susan is raising Reagan's 2 boys after she passed away 2.5 years ago from Cancer.  Ren is a miracle in itself because he had cancer as a baby and was not expected to live.

We haven't done much with the 2 boys but the kids got along well.  There were a few disagreements but they got along quite well.

We left Tuesday at 11a.m. and stopped at Maddox to eat lunch.  We took our time getting to Idaho stopping at Uncle Bud's new cabin to show Susan and Richard and the boys.  The boys were so excited to get to the cabin. They were excited to see Burt's dogs when we pulled up.

On Wednesday we hiked up to the first bridge at Palisades.  I was impressed we were able to make it that far, the kids did great.  We came home and took a bit of a rester and then we later in the afternoon we went to the dock at Blow Out on Palisades Reservior and played in the water.

Susan's tribute to Reagan and to Teny (who was with them at the cabin the last time they went up)

 Grammy, so cute!

 Lexi was a trooper!

On Friday we spent the morning at the cabin and then packed lunches and went over to Jackson Hole to eat lunch in the park.  We then took the kids to ride on the Alpine Slide at Snow King.  Grammy and Cruz rode together and Alegra and I rode together.  Both Reec and Ren were old enough to ride by themselves.  Richard and Susan waited at the bottom with Lexi.  Grammy was a good sport because her hip has been bothering her and it wasn't the most comfortable position to sit in the sleds.  After the ride we went to the town square. The kids and I waited in the park in the center of town. Richard did a little shopping and then hung out with us. Grammy and Susan shopped for about 45 minutes in the galleries.  The kids did great. Reec and Cruz played frisbee.  As long as we stayed in the shade we were very pleasant!  The kids got to pick out a bag of rocks and a few candies when the grandma's were done:)

The kids had a blast playing on the tramp, riding on the ATV's, playing with the dogs, fishing, etc.!

Today (Friday) we cleaned up the cabin and then drove over to Bear World.  We drove through the park, then went to the petting zoo, and rode the rides they have there. We then followed the feeding cart thru the park one more time before we left so we could see the Bear's more active.  We took off from Bear World today at 3 to head back to Utah.  We didn't plan on going and it was kind of a spur of the moment trip for the kids and I but we had tons of fun!
