Boy's Trip (May 31-June 1, 2014)

Cruz and I left for Swan Valley about 6 PM on Saturday. I thought Cruz would fall asleep on the ride (he had a sleep over the previous night and then 2 birthday parties earlier in the day) but to my surprise, he stayed awake the whole drive. When when we got to the Cabin, he wanted to go in the hot tub. After the hot tub I asked him if he wanted to help me figure out the WI-FI issues or if he'd rather relax. He did not respond so I went on my way to mess with modem/wireless router.  I came back 10 minutes later and he had put himself to bed and was fast asleep!

Sunday morning I let Cruz relax and watch "Mountain Men" on the discovery channel while I started on a few chores. Eventually Cruz joined me.

  • We got the new grill pulled around to the driveway
  • set up a shelving unit in the barn
  • moved some helmets to the shelves
  • taped all the atv's extra keys up under the dash/steering wheel
  • then got the boat hooked up to take to the lake to test the overheating issue.

Burt came with us to the lake. Cruz had fun driving the boat. We still experienced the overheating issue, so we played around for a little then headed back in. As we were pulling off the lake we got rained on a little, but overall it was perfect weather.

While I was messing around in the barn and getting the boat ready for transport to SLC, Cruz had fun off-roading with his bike (he had one crash in the the atv trailer), trimmed some tree branches for me, and he even saw a squirrel that ran away from him and went into a hole in the ground.  That was exciting for him!.
Before we left I also let Cruz look through the telescope that Grandpa Gary bought but never set up. Cruz thought that was pretty neat too.

I have no pictures of the weekend of either of us, but we had a great time together doing fun things and some work things. I just have a few pictures of the projects/organization we worked on.

It was a quick trip, but I'm glad my boy was with me.  We had a great time together!!!
