Cruz in Wisconsin

Grandma Frye sent me a bunch of pictures of a fun day for Cruz yesterday in Wisconsin.  He is in basketball camp in the mornings with Nick and Max.  They are doing this camp Monday-Thursday from 8 till noon.  Yesterday (Tuesday) they went to camp, then back to the Frye's for a pancake lunch.  They then went over to Linda's to swim.  After swimming they went back to the Frye's for a pizza dinner and then over to the Wilkens to play legos, mind craft, and have a sleepover.  Glad he is having fun!

6 years ago we lost one of the GREATS!  I miss and love you dad.  I know you are near and watching over us.

Errands and Macy Kids Camp

Yesterday the girls and I had to run a bunch of errands.  They got hungry and so I grabbed them a cheeseburger, fries, and strawberry milkshakes at In N Out for lunch.  They are so cute but we miss Cruz!!!

FENCE HIT!!

Last night at 1:45 in the morning I heard a loud crash.  I was kind of confused and didn't know if it was in my dream.  It kind of sounded like someone was dropping trash bags out of the back of their truck.  This morning I went downstairs with the girls to eat breakfast and I was looking at the back fence and it was falling over.  I went outside to examine closer. I thought maybe the weight of the vines snapped the fence. I was very confused. Then our neighbors Tom and Shelley came to their back deck and started to talk to me over the fence.  Shelley woke up to the noise and ran to the window to see a small grayish subaru speeding down the back alley, she saw them hit the fence area and then turn.  I ended up calling the cops to report it.  The cop didn't look very hard because he really didn't think much could come about from it.  Shelley and Tom found a piece of the car tonight though.  It is just a bummer because it ruined our property. I am thankful more wasn't destroyed though!!

Later in the day on Sunday Tom and Shelley went looking for evidence.  They found a piece of a dark grey vehicle with the word subaru written on the piece.  Tom found it on Muddy Paw under some of the vines that were ripped down.  Tom and Shelley also walked the neighborhood on Sunday looking for that car. They are so awesome!

My Boys in the Midwest

So Cruz and Shawn left very early on Saturday morning for Wisconsin.  They arrived about noon on Saturday.  They canoed the Fox River with Grandpa Frye, Cruz played Legos, played basketball with dad, visited "The Rock" a fun recreation complex Mike and Bridget (Shawn's cousin) owns.  Today they went to the Brewers game and had some family over in the evening for a barbecue. Cruz was excited to tell me he caught his first fire fly.  That is one thing I do miss about the midwest, fireflies on hot summer nights!   Glad he could catch one!!! Yesterday at the farmers market Grammy bought this huge bubble maker.  It is awesome. The girls had fun making bubbles last night and tonight.  We went to church and then went over to Grammy's house tonight for dinner with the Rally's (Russ and Ali family).  The kids were having fun playing together tonight.  We also shared some great stories about my dad, Gary.  On Tuesday it will be 6 years that he has passed.  Curt Johnson wrote my mom a note because on July 27th marked the 25th year he will have been at Raddon Financial Group. He was one of the original employees.  My dad took a risk hiring Curt, and Curt realizes that now as he looks back, but in this letter he thanked my mom and dad for the opportunity and the life changer it was for him.  It was fun to remember, think about, laugh, and shed a few tears about good-ol Gary!

 Brewers Stadium!

Yesterday on the way to Canoe the Fox River, Cruz finally conked out for a bit since he did get up at 4 a.m that morning!

Yesterday the girls playing with the bubble maker!

After dinner treat of a dairy queen milkshake, the first time for the girls at Dairy Quenn-and it has been almost 30 years for me!

Katherine's Pass to Katherine's Lake

Shawn and Cruz got up very early this morning to catch their 6:30 a.m. flight to Denver and then on to Milwaukee.  Shawn will be working this week in Chicago and Cruz will be spending time in Wisconsin with G & G Frye and the Wilkens. We will miss them but hope they have fun!

I got a sitter this morning for the girls so Grammy and I could do a hike up at Albion Basion while the wildflowers are on.  I want to get Grammy up there every year.  Pretty soon the girls will be able to make the hike and Cruz could for sure make the hike now.  It was so pretty.

After our hike we picked up the girls and went to the Farmers Market at Gardner Village.  They had a farmer out their with his ponies giving rides.  The girls had a blast going for a walk thru the farmers market!

Last Day of Swim Lessons

Yesterday was the last day of Swim Lessons.  We have loved lessons at Willow Creek this summer.  I have some video of Cruz doing front dives, back dives, and a front somersault off the diving board.  I also have video of Alegra going off the diving board.  Lexi did great in her class as well!!

24th of July!!!

On Thursday the 24th of July we went to the parade with Grammy.  We are getting a little lazy about it.   We left to show up right when the parade started.  But for getting a late start we found a pretty good spot.  We parked on 5th pretty close to 2nd East and we found a spot in the shade of "Cannela's"  one of our favorite downtown Italian Restaurants.  Granted, we weren't right on the street but we could see over the heads that were in front of us.  We stayed for most of the parade.  After the parade we went to Brueggers, a waffle place with tasty waffles!!

Most local companies give their employees the day off but Shawn's company is National so they didn't get the day off.  Grammy was nice enough to come over that night and watch the kids so we could go ride Solitude.  It was pretty and we so many deer on the ride!
