Big Day
On Tuesday we had a busy day. It started out by taking Cruz and Alegra to piano from 7:30-8:30 a.m. while Lexi and I walked around the neighborhood. Then we dropped the kids off at school and went to the gym for my workout class. After workout class we went to Lexi's first speech session. She worked with the therapist for an hour. Then we grabbed some lunch and went to dad's work to meet him to eat. I decided to go to Target to pick up a gift card I needed, and thats when Lexi just conked out. She doesn't do that often!!

RSL Game with Alegra
Alegra got a free ticket to the RSL game last night through her club soccer team, Cottonwood Futbol Club. They also got to run out on the field before the game started and stand on the field for the National Anthem. It was craziness but I think she had fun. Alegra and I stayed for a great game, that RSL won!!!

Busy first free day
So this week has been a blur and very busy. Yesterday I was at the school most of the day with PTA stuff for Back to School night. Today, Cruz and Alegra were at school all day today and Lexi was at school in the afternoon but I was busy getting ready for Grammy's big 75th birthday celebration. Since I couldn't prep before hand today I made, 2 different batches of salsa, homemade guacamole, homemade coconut poke cake, and a very yummy fresh corn salad. I know it doesn't sound like too much but it took me all day to shop, bake, cook, and decorate. I wish I took a picture but everything turned out great. The Rali's and grammy came over. We had a big surprise for grammy too. Ali purchased a dog for grammy as her big gift. We had grammy go to the door and the dog was at the door in a bag. She was shocked. I think the dog looks like a really cute dog though. We also got her this genetic testing kit that she is excited about. I think mom had a wonderful evening and she deserves it!!!

Alegra started 1st grade today with Mrs. DiPietro and Cruz started 4th grade today with Mrs. Washburn. We are excited about the new school year.
I love this picture of the two of them. They were so cute with each other this morning!!
Dad stuck around this morning to walk the kiddos to the bus for the first morning!! Lexi and I drove over to school after they boarded the bus to make sure Alegra was okay at school!

Lexi's first day of Pre-K at Challenger
I asked Lexi to Smile in the above picture!
I had such a hard time leaving her. She wasn't crying but I could tell she was scared.
Finding her name on the board.
Long weekend in Swan Valley and Teton National Park
We were planning to go to Swan Valley last weekend and Shawn had a great idea to take the boat up to Jackson Lake and stay up there at a place one night. So, we made reservations at Signal Mountain Lodge for Saturday night in a room that overlooked Jackson Lake. It was so fun!!!
We drove up to Swan Valley Thursday afternoon/evening. On Friday we loaded the boat up and took off for Jackson Lake. It is about a 2 hour drive from Swan Valley. It was a little chilly Friday morning but it did warm up a bit. The lake was a bit rough but not too bad. We got on the lake about 1:00 and Shawn's friends from Wisconsin, The Recitti's, met us at the lake at 1:30. Andy plays the bass for the Milwaukee orchestra and then in the summers he plays for about 3 weeks with the Teton Symphony. His wife Rachel and 2 sons Miles (10) and Nelson (8) had a blast on the boat. We had to drop them off at the boat ramp at 5 so Andy could get ready for his show that night. We got off the lake then too. We checked into our hotel and then went to dinner at Jackson Lake Lodge. Grammy was with us and it was fun celebrating our 11th wedding anniversary all together. Plus Grammy turns 75 this week so we were celebrating that too. We saw 2 elk standing on the side of the road driving home from dinner.
Stopped at the visitors center to Teton National Park in Moose to get 1 of the 3 permits we needed for the boat to be able to go on Jackson Lake.
As a fourth grader, Cruz gets a free pass to the National Parks for the entire year. Shawn found out about this perk a few days ago. Cruz was excited to have his own credit card :).

Cruz showing off his mad skills wake boarding for an audience. He is such a ham when he wakeboards!!
On Saturday morning we got up and drove over to Dornan for a typical cowboy breakfast. I can't even explain how amazing the Tetons are when you are so close to them. We ate pancakes outside in the beautiful scenery. We went back to the lake and it was warmer and the lake was glass. We had fun exploring the lake more and wake boarding, surfing, Barefooting (shawn) and dancing!!! We got off the lake at about 3 to start to head back home. We stopped in Victor for hamburger and huckleberry shakes for dinner before getting to the cabin.
Lexi on the drive back to the cabin, wiped out!!!
On Sunday, we normally go to church in Swan Valley but Grammy and I hiked to the 1st lake at Palisades. Mom really wanted to do that as a gift to herself for her 75th birthday! She did great. Now her new goal is to do it when she is 80! She is really amazing to me!!! We had such a fun weekend!
we got up early so we could hike some of the way in cooler temps!

The creek was so pretty! It was still running high and fast!
