MEXICO with FRYE CLAN 2016

On Sunday November 4th, 2016 our family flew from SLC to Cancun, Mexico, about a 3.5 hour flight going direct. We arrived in Cancun about 4:00p.m. and took a van to our hotel, an Ocean Hotel. The entire vacation was set up through Apple Vacations, so all our accommodations and transportation was provided for as part of the package. We had gone a few days early so we stayed at a different hotel for Sunday and Monday. On Tuesday around noon we switched over to the other hotel. But we had a great time at the first all inclusive playing in the ocean, swimming, playing tennis, and hanging out together with our little family. The kids enjoyed various activities that the kids club offered, a cooking class and a dart throwing competition, which Cruz won first place and got a t-shirt. On Tuesday we took a taxi about a half of a mile to a Dreams all inclusive. Both of these hotels were located near a small town called Puerto Morales. Grandpa and Grandma Frye along with the Wilkens arrived on Tuesday afternoons about 4:00 p.m. On Wednesday we woke up to rain but fortunately by about 11 the rain stopped and the sun tried to come out. It was warm enough to swim even though it wasn't super sunny. On Thursday we booked a trip to go swim with the Dolphins. In the afternoon we took about a 45 minute drive to the Dolphin Center were we all got to swim with the Dolphins. It was a very fun experience. On Friday all the boys had booked a deep sea fishing excursion. They left at about 6 a.m. and didn't come home until about 2:00 p.m. While the boys were away the girls took a taxi into Playa Del Carmen to do some shopping. It was about a 30 minute drive into Playa Del Carmen and it was $45 for one way. Unfortunately, Shawn got very sea sick on the fishing excursion. He had even taken Dramamine but it took no effect. He said it was the worst 6 hours of his life!! On Saturday we took some family pictures in the morning and then had the rest of the day to just hang out at the pool and beach. The Frye's/Wilkens left on Sunday morning -after a breakfast and pictures in some Packer/Bear gear. We changed quick and hit the pool for a few more hours until we left for the airport at about 1:45. It was a little over 4 hour flight to get back home but I was so glad it was direct. It was nice to get some rest, relaxation, and sun in!!
