Lexi's 5 year old well check appointment!

Lexi's eye's tested well! :)  So grateful for this bug and that she is healthy!!  She is 44 inches tall (78%), 39 lbs. (48%).  She is getting big and strong and we love her!!!

Bluebird Ski Day

Yesterday my mom and I struck gold!  This season we have been able to ski on Wednesdays (it is when I can get a sitter for Lexi).  Yesterday was the most perfect Wednesday.  Sunny, warmish, and good snow.  We ate our favorite lunch sitting outside of Alfs.  A reuben sandwich that we split and french fries.  My mom has become a very cautious skier, still a beautiful skier, but she is definitely cautious.  I ski behind her so if something were to happen I can help her up.  We ski kinda the same runs she likes and sometimes a bit slow, but I wouldn't trade it for the world.  I love having this time with my mom.

Shawn's 40th birthday!

Today is the day Shawn turns 40!! Since we kinda did a big blowout on Friday and sang to him on Sunday (after Sunday dinner) it was a bit more mellow today.  I got Cruz up to make dad some pancakes (Cruz's specialty) before Shawn left for work.  While Shawn was at work we put some signs in the yard.  Also, I picked up some specially made "peanut pershing" (a Wisconsin donut) from  CREATE donut.  Shawn had to coach lacrosse practice tonight but I did ask him what he wanted for dinner and his request was Zao. So the girls and I picked up take out and had it here ready to eat a family birthday dinner when the boys got home from practice.  We got dad 2 new dress shirts and a new pair of shorts.  Overall, I hope he had a wonderful birthday and knows how much we love him!!!

 I posted this collage on Facebook and instagram for Shawn's birthday.  I also wanted to send a thank you shout out to all his friends and family members that turned memories and birthday wishes in for his book!

SURPRISE 40th BIRTHDAY PARTY FOR SHAWN!!!

On Friday Night March 24th I planned a surprise party for Shawn.  I had sent invitations out 3 weeks earlier.  I invited the core group of his biking friends in his early days in Utah.  Unfortunately as the party got closer lots of them responded they couldn't' make it.  I was getting nervous nobody would be there. I recruited my mom and brother and some of the Raddon kids to be there last minute :).  I told Shawn the day before that Russ and Ali had planned a little birthday party for Madival at Fats Bowling Alley.  He didn't seem fazed by it.  So Friday finally came and we headed for Fat Cats at about 6. I had asked everyone to get there by 6.  When we walked in the group kinda walked over to us and Shawn seemed surprised.  There were more of his friends there than I had expected so I was happy. It actually turned out to be a nice size group.  We ate pizza, breadsticks, salad, soda, bowled and talked.  Near the end o the party we had cake and chatted some more and Shawn opened the book I had made him for his birthday.  I had asked family and friends to submit pictures and memories to me and I put them all in a book.  My goal was to have 40 submissions for 40 years old and I had more than that.

Happy 5th Birthday LEXI!!!

I can't believe my baby is 5 today :(.  She is so happy about getting older but I am not so sure.  But I love the little girl she is becoming.  She is so sweet and kind and has a GREAT imagination.  She can play with little figurines or spoons or clips and play all by herself for hours in a pretend game.  She is working on how to read and really working on writing her alphabet.

Yesterday we had 13 little friends to Jungle Jims to celebrate her birthday.  It was such a fun birthday.  Tyler, Matt, Graham, Elliott, Deegan, Cy, Jess, Grace, Walker, Elle, Cruz, Alegra, and Lexi.  The kids rode the rides for the first hour, then we ate pizza, had cake, opened presents, and then they had a $5 game card to play games and finish up riding rides.  Happy Birthday Lexi Lu, We LOVE YOU!!!
