Memorial Day Weekend 2017

Friday before the weekend, Lexi went and spent some time with Shawn at his work so I could get a workout in (the daycare was full).  She had fun hanging out with him!
Then after my workout grammy came and picked us up and we went up to decorate the graves at the Salt Lake Cemetery (grammy, Lexi, and I).  Can't believe it has been almost 9 years for my dad. It is starting to feel like a long time :)
 Miles-Ryan and Naomi's son
Hollis, Evelyn, and Nana (Evelyn's mom), and Ane (Nana's mom-who sent her 4 girls to america with different missionaries and then eventually came to the us)
Late Friday night we drove to Swan Valley to work at the cabin on Saturday.  We had fun hanging out!

 LOVE THESE THREE!

A little Sunday afternoon hike up a bit on Palisades Reservoir (after Shawn rode 110 mile loop up and over to Jackson and back home)

Grammy made the yummmiest dinner which included mashed potatoes, which my kids love!
 S'more time!

Alegra was loving that Murphy was acting like a baby on the ride home

My everythings!

Cruz lost his tooth at school (I didn't even know it was loose) so I went in to check on him. I love checking on my sleeping kiddos every night.  They are so cute!!!  What a difference from 1st tooth to the 10th tooth (or something like that).

Busy Saturday

We had a perfect and busy day on Saturday.  First of all, the weather was amazing.  Not too hot nor not too cold.  Cruz and Shawn had their last lacrosse game of the season and it was a nail bitter.  They just kept going back and forth on the score.  It ended up tied, but Cruz scored the first goal of the game, so I think we technically won.  It was fun because we played Alta, and on the Alta's team there were a bunch of boys that Cruz used to do a playgroup with in Kindergarten.  I saw their moms, that was how I figured it out.  It was crazy to see the boys so big!
Cruz worked on his last book report for 4th grade.  He has had a great year!
We put in our garden.  This was an easy year for me because Shawn had prepped all the beds last weekend, so on Saturday it was just the actual planting, which was super nice.
Kind of a last minute decision, but we decided to put new dirt in all our back beds-the dirt was looking in bad shape.  We had enough to do 2 of or more visible beds in the front as well.  I think our backyard is looking really nice right now.  I love working with Shawn and the kiddos in the yard.

Alegra's 1st grade program

Alegra had her 1st grade program today.  It was so cute.  Alegra did a great job on her speaking part and on all of the songs.  Her speaking part was, "In January we celebrate Martin Luther King."  They ended the program with the song "Ordinary People" and it made me tear up!!  I love Alegra but it has been a hard year with her this year.  Some of it was her and some of it was with friends.  I need to learn to be more patient and listen to her.  She is a sweet girl and I need to continue to try and instill that in her.

Unicorn and Riding

Alegra had her friend Bella's birthday on Wednesday.  It was a Unicorn themed party.  It was such a fun party!
And Shawn road rided up Little Cottonwood Canyon.  Alegra and I picked him up at the top so he didn't freeze on the way down.

Ready for swim lessons,  I could just squeeze her!!

Rich's 50th Birthday

Mom and I flew out Friday night at about 8 p.m.  We landed in LA and then rented a car and drove to Ojai Valley Inn and Spa, about 2 hours north of LA.  On Saturday mom and I both had a massage at the world renowned spa, walked around the grounds at Ojai (which are beautiful), and hung out at the pool.  Katie had reserved 2 cabanas near the adult pool for friends that had come in for the party.  It was such a fun and relaxing day and the weather was perfect, 75 and sunny.
My friend Trisha (from BYU) and her husband are friends with Rich (her husband is the Bishop and Rich is his counselor).  It was fun seeing here there.  That night at about 6:30 Katie had a separate room for the party.  About 30 of Rich's friends were able to make it.  It was a nice size group.  The food was excellent and it was so fun to hear stories about Rich.  It was such a fun evening!

Some of his friends had this picture made, it was so funny!!
I wish I got a picture of mom and I at the spa because we aren't really spa people.  We both really liked our massage though.  Sunday morning was Mothers Day and it was fun to hang out with my mom.  I missed my kids but wanted to relish this quiet time I had with her.  We met up with Rich and Katie for a casual breakfast outside at Ojai before we took off back for the airport.  It really was such a fun, quick weekend!
