Once we got to the liar, I stayed up top with Olive because it would have been really hard to get her down in.
Afterwards, we drove and sang to the town of Hanksville -about 20 minutes away. The town consisted of 1 small market, 2 gas stations, and 2 hotels-the run down one was the one that accepted dogs-so that's where we stayed, kinda scary! But, we survived! IT was kinda all part of the adventure. When we pulled into Hanksville we stopped at the market to buy some yogurts and bagels for breakfast and lunch the next day. We then checked in our room and then drove over to Stan's -the famous burger place that everyone stops at to eat after they leave Lake Powell. Their food was good and the location was nice. The tv in the room didn't work so we played some games and then hit the hay early. The next day (today) we drove to Little Wild Horse- a slot canyon right near Goblin Valley State Park. The hike was an 8 mile loop-but about 2 miles in-in one of the slot canyon areas, we ran into water and we really couldn't get through it. It was only about 40 degrees so we didn't want to get our feet all wet so we turned around. We still had a blast on the hike and it was such cool scenery. Olive had a blast too! We loaded into the car at about 1:00 and made it home to have Sunday dinner with grammy-which made me feel good!
