Cruz went to Homecoming this past Saturday night - October 1st. He asked Kate Martinez the first week of school. He never shared with Shawn or I how he actually asked her (with some cute poster or something). She replied to him on Monday of this past week (but he knew she was going with him). Saturday was the date! It's an all day affair. They do a day activity. Go home get ready, take pictures, dinner, the dance, and then an after activity. Their day activity they went downtown to some interactive museum. It ended up being more fun then his group had thought. His group was Jordan and Ellody, Jake and Indi, and Cruz and Kate. I took Cruz to go pick up Kate at her house at 5 p.m. It was so cute!!! We then drove back here and the group met at our house to walk over to the back entrance of La Caille for pictures. The parents had fun making them take LOTS of pictures. Actually only all the boys parents were at pictures, none of the girls parents came. They then left to go to Market Street for dinner. That is an expensive restaurant but only a handful of restaurants around here take reservations and they didn't want to wait so long they would miss the dance. I almost strangled Cruz though. When I asked him what her ordered the next day - he said the Surf n Turf, which he thought was Lobster tail but it was Crab - it was listed as MARKET PRICE. I was like, "Dude that's WAY too expensive." He replied, "Mom, you only live once and I only have 2 more Homecomings left!" In some ways he is correct but I was like, "boy, you have expensive taste!" They went to the dance that was held at Brighton High School. After the dance they went to Ellody's house to swim. Cruz got home around 1:00 p.m. - which is a little late but Jordan had to take everyone home. The nice thing about this group is that Jordan could drive them everywhere and they fit in his mom's minivan. Cruz gave Jordan some gas money.
