DMV for license

Alegra and I took Cruz to the DMV to turn in his paperwork to get his license.  He is now a licensed driver!!! We went out to Kneaders for a late breakfast afterwards to celebrate!

Tryout week

Tuesday started tryout week for Alegra. I took her and 2 of her teammates up to Farmington to the ECNL Avalanche tryout.  Its for the top team and I knew most likely Alegra wouldn't make it but I thought it would be good for her to get her jitters out and get used to being uncomfortable.  She really didn't like the tryout, the girls from the past team were super mean.....kinda snubbing all the girls, oh well, girls will be girls.  After tryouts I took Alegra and Isla to Farmington station to grab lunch and then get our nails done. Then I took Isla to meet Naomi at the airport.  Alegra had a few hours downtime until I took her to an Impact tryout.  Tryout season is CRAZY and I am feeling like a CRAZY soccer mom!  I hope the best thing happens for Alegra.

Meanwhile, Cruz was home skiing up at Alta with his friends - he had fun but he forgot 1 VERY important item when you are skiing on an 80 degree weather day..........SUNSCREEN!

Idaho for a quick Memorial Day Weekend

We ended up having a quick trip to Idaho, but it ended up being great.  Because we stayed in town on Friday we were able to spend some time at the SLC graves and not be rushed. Plus we were able to meet K. and Karen for lunch.  Alegra was able to go to a scrimmage before she has tryouts this week on Friday night too.  Cruz was able to schedule his driving test through the school on Saturday morning and he passed!! Now we just need to go to the DMV to pick up his license!  After passing the test we picked up Cruz's friend Jordan and were able to get on the road.  We stopped at Maddox for a late lunch and then we also stopped in Idaho Falls to decorate grammy's parents graves.  Idaho was nice. There were periods of sunshine and rain. It was on the cooler side but not too bad.  We were able to go to church on Sunday and then we drove over to Jackson Hole.  We drove up the pass and home through Hoback Junction so we could check out Palisades Reservoir.  Everything was so green.  The kids had fun riding the razors and just hanging out.  Today we worked to get things taken care of at the cabin. I still need to weed but we left things in pretty good shape.  It ended up being a really nice weekend.  Lexi and Shawn were in Reno at Lexi's basketball tournament.  I will post pictures when they get back.

The ladies trying to figure out technology! :)

Cute Cousins!

So glad Jordan could come with Cruz.  They had fun fishing, lighting fireworks, riding razors, hanging out, etc.

Graves and Lunch

Pictures loaded backwards so we will start with the end - we met K. and Karen for lunch at the Grand America downtown. They were getting massages and we met them after for lunch.  We got the girls their own table so they could feel special!
Ryan brought Isla last night at about 11 p.m to SLC.  She is going to hang out with us for the weekend.  We went to put flowers on Grandpa Gary's grave, Miles grave (Isla's oldest brother- who lived 1 day), and my dads parents, grandparents, and great grandparents grave.  This is one of grammy's traditions and she loves to put beautiful flowers (especially on dad's grave).
Grammy telling the girls a little bit about grandpa!

Last Field Day at Granite Elementary

For work since they were short field day helpers I was able to be Lexi's group parent helper for field day.  Cruz and Alegra both supposedly had school today, but they didn't go, so they came and helped me. I actually don't think I could have done it without their help.  We had a special needs boy, Charlie, in our group and Cruz was amazing with him.  Alegra helped me figure out where to go to each station when the whistle blew.  Unfortunately, we had to take this kids to the gym near the end because of lightning. That was mass chaos.  The storm passed fortunately and the firetruck was able to come and spray the kids down.  Can't believe this was my last field day at Granite!

Lexi has come so far and learned so much during her years at Granite!!!

And this is how I feel at the end of this month......super fun but kinda crazy with all the activities!!

Safety Patrol Graduation

Lexi received her graduation certificate from Safety Patrol this year.  She enjoyed doing safety patrol - even though she looks totally un- interested in the ceremony!

Geometry City

Shawn was able to go in and see the work Lexi and her group (which she did NOT like her group) were able to do on Geometry City.  Last day with Mrs. Frickelton too!!
