DPL Showcase in Tucson, Arizona

On Wednesday night November 13th Alegra and I flew out to Tucson on a 9 p.m. flight.  We got a rental car in Tucson and drove the 1 mile to our hotel.  It was a short night because Alegra had a game at 8:30 a.m. the next morning.  This was her first real game with her new team.  She played a game on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday.  Alegra really likes her new team and I think they seem like nice girls with nice parents, which is always nice!

They won their first tough fought game 3-2 on Wednesday.  We met the team for lunch at In n Out. Afterwards Alegra wanted to go to Target and get her nails done.  We went back to the hotel to rest before finding an Italian place to eat dinner ate. Tucson is kinda a weird town.  The Italian place was not in a great area, but Alegra was happy with her pasta.  We met up with the team for a movie - Red One -which ended up being silly, but I am glad Alegra is making some connections.

Fridays game was tougher. They ended up losing 0-4.  It was an early game, an 8 a.m. start time.  So, after the game we came back to the hotel to rest for a bit.  We grabbed lunch at Chipotle and then met up with some of her teammates to go to the Tucson Temple.  After the Temple we saw that there was a nice mall near the temple.  So Alegra and I went shopping and she found a cute winter dress on sale at Anthropology that we couldn't pass up on.  The team was meeting up for dinner at Buffalo Wild Wing to watch the BYU women's soccer game. Unfortunately when we got there they couldn't pull the game up. There was a big boxing fight on so that was the big hit at the place.  We still ate there and the girls had fun.

Saturday the game was a little later, it started at 11:40. Alegra and I checked out of our room before the game because we were able to change our flight (with no fee) to leave on the Saturday night flight at 5:45 p.m.  We originally booked for Sunday night because we were told there might be games on Sunday. So glad we could go home a day early.  The game this day was so weird. The team just had enough players and I don't even know if they knew each other.  At half Alegra's team was up 6-0.  Bailey, her coach told them they had to do at least 5 passes and could only score a goal with a 1 touch or a header.  They ended up winning 8-0.  After the game Alegra and I went to a Mexican place for lunch that Shawn had recommended and then drove through the the Saguaro National Park. It ended up being way cooler than we expected.  We then drove to the airport to check our car in and get on our flight. It was a good weekend to get Alegra's toes wet with this team.  She could hang with me or choose to do team stuff. Next weekend she travels with the team on a bus back to Phoenix for another tournament.
