Frye Family Christmas 2010

Cruz looking at the lights with his 3D glasses on Christmas Eve!

Starting to open presents!

Alegra holding on to the Smartcycle bike!

We had a very enjoyable Christmas this year. Because Christmas fell on a Saturday, Shawn got the Friday before off of work. That is really nice. Utah has gotten quite a bit of snow lately so Shawn was able to go up and enjoy some fresh powder Friday morning. The kids and I played, did some last minute grocery shopping, and sang Christmas carols. I love Christmas Eve day, actually, I almost love it more than Christmas, just that feeling in the air, the anticipation I guess, hard to explain. Shawn came home from skiing and then took Cruz back up for some more runs. The boys came home around 4 and we all got dressed up and picked up grammy and Aunt Rebecca and went to Market Street for a yummy fish dinner. I love Market Street, it was decorated so pretty, the food is amazing, and it gave me and my mom a break from cooking, kind of a nice way to do Christmas Eve. After dinner we had some time before the kids needed to go to bed so we drove out to Thanksgiving Point where they have a drive thru light display. It was very pretty and Cruz loved it. You drive very slowly thru the display so we let Cruz sit up front on the center console and he had these 3D glasses. We listened to Christmas music and enjoyed the lights. Cruz actually feel asleep on the way home from lights and Alegra went to bed very easily once we got home.

Santa came to our house and gave the kids presents. Cruz actually slept in until about 7:30. He has been getting up pretty early ever since getting back from Wisconsin, so it was nice he slept in a little. Unfortunately Alegra got up at 5:45 though. She has been dealing with some constipation problems and that woke her up early Christmas morning. It was so fun to see Cruz's expression Christmas morning. He loved everything. Santa left him a semi truck, a log loader, and a smartcycle bike. He also got a turtle he has been wanting in his stocking along with a gummy worm. Grammy Raddon gave him the desired Firestation along with the ambulance and policmen car. He also received a penguin and a penguin story. We gave him a toy snowcat that he was wanting too. He is in heaven with all of these new toys. It has been hard to get him away from the toys. He has been playing so well all by himself with this firestation, it is pretty crazy.

Alegra got a toy cell phone from Santa and a lady bug ride on toy from Grammy. She really likes Cruz's Smartcycle bike, she likes to pull herself up to it, stand by it, and stand there and press the buttons.

The kids were really good and it was so fun to watch them. In the afternoon we went sledding up Big Cottonwood Canyon with our cousins and Uncles. Cruz took a pretty big crash. Uncle Russ was laying on his stomach on the sled and Cruz, Walt, and Nicholas were all hanging on to him going down the hill. Somehow the boys all tumbled off. All I have to say is, thank goodness for helmets. Because of his helmet I don't think he got hurt, but Cruz was crying because he was scared. Later in the day we got dressed and went over to Grammy's house. Rich, Katie& Co. drove in from California and the Utah Raddons came over too. It was a big group and kind of crazy, but fun! Actually Katie's parents and brother were over visiting and we had plenty of food so they ended up staying for dinner as well. 19 altogether, way to go mom! Actually, she did let me and Ali help by bringing a salad. I brought her famous Cranberry marshmallow salad. I wish we could celebrate Christmas for another week together!

The coveted firestation!
