Fun long weekend in Idaho

Shawn left for Idaho on Wednesday night with the truck.  He went a day early because he was taking the Zefr board out on the boat on Thursday afternoon after their board meeting at the cabin.  Grammy, the kids, and I left Thursday morning.  We stopped at Maddox for lunch, and then Paul's Patch for fresh fruit and veggies (this is my moms little routine :)).  We then drove to Lava Hot Springs and went to the Pool at Lava (about 15 minutes outside of Pocatello).  I had never been there.  It was a lot of fun.  They had a nice pool, 4 slides, diving boards, platform boards, and an inside play pool for the littles.  It was sunny out but not super hot, but it was still nice enough.  The hot pools were a bit of a walk through town so we never ended up going to the hot pools.  We stayed most of the afternoon at the pool and then ate dinner in the little town of Lava.  We then continued our drive to Idaho Falls, were we had gotten a hotel room for the night.   We stayed right by the falls, so we took a little walk before trying to get the kiddos down. They were hyped up, so they didn't fall asleep until about 10:15, yikes!!!  Rich's guests were leaving Friday morning, so we loaded up after our free breakfast at the hotel (which Cruz ate 4 waffles, an omelette, 4 sausages, a bowl of cereal, and i think some other things).  We stopped at the rest area on the way to Swan Valley to say hi and goodbye to Rich and his assistant.  Rich looked tired after hosting these big guys for 3 days at the cabin.

Yummy ice cream on our way out of Lava to Idaho Falls!

The Falls and the Idaho Falls temple in the background!

On Friday we got there and started washing sheets (we had to wash 18 beds worth of sheets).  My moms friends Todd and Brandon, happen to be floating the river that day so they stopped and we had lunch together.  After lunch it kinda looked sunny so we decided to head to the lake (the weather wasn't supposed to be great for the weekend, so we took our chances).  It wasn't super sunny and warm on the lake but it was good enough!

I wake boarded (which I haven't done in a while) and surfed!

 The boys surfed together!

Lexi fell asleep like this on the rough ride back to the boat launch!

On Saturday, it was pretty rainy.  We ended up just playing around the cabin.  James, Esme and Stacey happen to be vacationing in Victor, so they drove over for the afternoon.  That night we went to Victor to try a new Nepali food place in Victor.  When we came home I saw a brown moose cross on the river side.  We ran into the house to see 3 bull moose right out in front of the cabin. They stayed there for about 10 minutes eating the bushes, it was pretty awesome!!

On Sunday we went to church and then before we headed home we went on a little ATV ride.  The girls just went to the mouth of Rainy Creek Trailhead but Cruz and Shawn went up the trail some. Shawn has those pictures.  Lexi fell asleep on the drive home!
