Yesterday was my dads birthday. He would have been 82. We made a chocolate cake for him to celebrate Grandpa Gary!

Crazy sock day
Cruz put power boosters (with water bottles) on his socks for crazy sock day at school. I didn't get a picture of Lu and Alegra was home sick.
Sick
On Wednesday afternoon Alegra called from school not feeling well. I was at lunch with David and Rebecca and kiddos at Thanksgiving Point, so it took a bit to get Alegra. The minute Grammy and I started to drive away with Alegra in the car she barfed. Poor thing had the stomach flu!

Pierce, Farrah, and Family
I got to meet baby Pierce today. We met at Thanksgiving Point for lunch. David, Rebecca, Farrah, and Pierce are staying at David parent's this week, but David's parents were busy this afternoon so they slipped away to meet us for lunch. Pierce slept the entire lunch but did wake up when we were leaving so I got to hold him a second. Can't wait for more holding time next week!

Family motto
We have been working on a family motto. I got this one from my friend and really like theirs. I am posting this so I remember it!
Crazy Hair Day
Its Red Ribbon Week at school (say no to drugs) and each day has a theme. Monday was wear Red. Tuesday was CRAZY HAIR DAY, which is by far the kids favorite. Today is wear a HAT day. Their hair looked pretty good yesterday!!!
St George
Stacey and Esme invited me and the kids to St. George for UEA (our fall break). I ended up checking the kids out an hour early on Wednesday and Stacey and Esme picked us up. We hit the road. I'm glad we got an early start because we had traffic but not stop and go to get to St. George. We stayed in Stacey's parents home. It was so much fun!!!
When we got to St. George we fed the kids a quick dinner and then we went to the pool for the home complex. They have an indoor and and outdoor pool.
On Thursday we went to this cool park in the morning. It was called Thunder Junction. It was a huge park, splash pad, and an train ride for a $1. It was nice out, not too hot and not too cold.
We came back to the house and had lunch and then we went on a hike. We thought there were waterfalls (which there are in the spring) so we wore suits. There was no water but it was still a beautiful hike!!
Lexi's signature "thumbs up". She did this the whole weekend, it was so cute!
On Friday we swam outside in the outdoor pool in the morning. It was so fun. Then we went out to this place called Glitter Mountain or Crystal Mountain. Not sure how I feel about this still but we took hammers and the kids hammered out gypsum rocks from the mountain. It was off the beaten path but there were lots of people out there doing it too. Cruz absolutely LOVED it.
On Saturday we played around the house and in the backyard at the pond/stream that runs through Stacey's parents backyard, then went to a 2:00 Lego Ninjago Movie. After the movie we went to the pool. Cruz ended up staying home because he wasn't feeling well, and then he ended up have the stomach flu-major.
We had fun doing crafts (mostly pearler beads), making s'mores at night, playing pie face, spoons, having dance parties, and just having fun. The last picture is of Cruz napping after his bout with the stomach flu. Unfortunately, Esme got it in the middle of the night Saturday night and on the drive home Sunday morning. But other than the sickness hiccup, it was such a great time. The nice thing was Stacey's parents don't have WIFI so the kids literally played the entire time. No screens, which was amazing! Some of the nights we would turn on a DVD, but they all watched it together, instead of each being on their little devices. Honestly though, it was heavenly having them just run around and play!!!

Reflections entries
These are 2 of Cruz's reflections entries. The top one is a 3D made out of plus plus pieces. I forgot to take a picture of the fall tree Alegra drew.
Sleep problems
Lexi had a few days last week were she was just plain terrible. Part of it steamed from not going to bed and then being tired the next day. She fell asleep in the hall last Monday night :). Luckily, she has snapped out of it!!

CAR ACCIDENT
Yesterday on my way home from my PTA meeting I was in an accident. It was my first big accident and hopefully my last. I was stopped at the light of 9800 South and Wasatch. I was going East on 98th South. The light turned green and I started to go. Before I could blink I saw this car right before my eyes and we hit. The lady in the other car (I'm not sure what she was thinking) but she turned left right in front of me. I didn't even have time to break and I believe she was trying to make a quick left turn in front of me. The airbags came out and I have never smelled such a metally weird smell. I actually kinda jumped out of my car because I thought it was going to catch on fire. I was stunned and shocked afterwards BUT luckily not injured. There was a nice man that stopped who was waiting to turn left behind the woman that hit me. She never got out of her car and he was the one that talked to her. He called the police and then an ambulance came and took her away. I do hope she is o.k. but I didn't want to say anything that might even indicate that I was in the wrong. I am just SOOOOOOOO grateful the kids weren't with me and that I am o.k. I think the minivan is totaled. Both cars had to get taken away and I couldn't even open the sliding doors on the mini van because it had gotten off track. It was so scary and so fast! I called Shawn and he was able to leave work and come be with me. I am so grateful for that! I was just so happy I could kiss my kids goodnight last night! Thank you Heavenly Father and my guardian angels for keeping me safe!
Cute Girls
We went clothes shopping and both of the girls looked so cute for school this day (Tuesday)!
We had to grab a bit of dinner between Alegra's gymnastics and her Yukeleli lesson. They shared this GIANT rice krispy treat!

G&G Frye and Durango
Grandpa and Grandma Frye came into town last week. After spending a few days with them, Shawn and I took off for a little weekend getaway to Durango, Colorado.
Alegra is getting so good at gymnastics.
Lexi was excited to show Grandpa and Grandma this game-Pie Face!!!
Shawn and I took off Friday morning and G&G Frye met the Horning at Gardner Village for some Halloween fun!
Alegra got her face painted
Friday afternoon/evening Alegra had team pictures that Grandpa Frye took her to
Water running down the streets from the storm
It was kinda a rainy Saturday so we decided to hike Engineer Peak. It was a beautiful drive and the hike was really pretty. We couldn't reach the peak because near the top it got snowy and steep. It was still a really fun hike!
After the hike we stopped at Trimble Hot Springs for a relaxing soak. Then we got back to town and it was pretty so we biked around town and made it to the top were Fort Lewis College is and it overlooks Durango. That was a lot of fun too. Durango has this cool main street area with lots of fun restaurants that we ate at and walked around at during the night. On Sunday we stopped and biked at Rocky Tops and Rambler. I usually don't love the biking in Moab but this was a super fun ride!!!

Meanwhile we got Durango Friday afternoon. We started on a bike ride and were about 2 miles in when thunder and lightning started. Shawn didn't want to turn around and then the rain started. Luckily we headed down because then it started to hail. We were able to take cover under a tree and then we ran to someones porch. It hailed for almost 30 minutes. It was the craziest hail storm!
