"Elf" the musical!

We had a fun filled, busy Thanksgiving holiday weekend.  On Saturday we kept the fun rolling.  Saturday morning we had won movie tickets from our dentist to see the 10:00 a.m. Coco movie. It is a new cute movie that just came out. So the kids and I went to the movie.  Then we came home for lunch and to play a bit.  Then at about 2:00 Grammy came over and we went to go see "Elf" the musical playing at the Eccles Theater downtown.  Dad didn't want to go so we took Ezra.  It was fun because downtown is all decked out for Christmas.

Ready for the play/musical to start! Our seats weren't all together but we were fairly close.  The kids did great.

 Intermission with a little snack!
Rich picked up Ezra after the musical because they flew home last night.  Grammy, the kids, and I walked down to Temple Square to see the lights. It was a pretty warm evening but very crowded.  They do such a good job decorating.  It was fun to see the lights!

Downtown was REALLY crowded and no one was starving, so we drove out towards our house to eat dinner.  We met dad at Porcupine for dinner.  Such a fun day and evening.
Lexi loves to win, she is showing me that she beat grammy at tic-tac-toe.
Dad, Cruz, and Alegra in an intense game of hangman.

Friday Night Bowling

Before I had planned Alegra's baptism my mom had scheduled some lanes at the bowling Alley for Friday night.  Friday was the day Rich and Katie's family were spending with us and she wanted something fun to do.  It was such a fun day of baptism, lunch with family, playing with cousins, and then pizza and bowling with family for dinner.

Katie snapped this pictures of Shawn when he came home from his bike ride before we went bowling.  She's considering getting these tight suspenders for Rich for Christmas.
 Bowling Fun!!

I did better at getting more pictures at this event :)

So fun!! Missing Dave and Rebecca's family and Ryan and Naomi's family!

I took a picture of the score because I actually beat Shawn!!!

Alegra's Baptism Day

We had Alegra's baptism on Friday, November 24th, 2017.  It was a bit tricky having it the day after Thanksgiving, I just had to be real organized and have everything ready by Wednesday.  The morning of her baptism Shawn and I got up early and started getting food ready for the luncheon that was at our house afterwards.  We chopped lettuce, peeled avocados, cut fruit and limes.  Before the baptism Shawn ran to Cafe Rio to pick up the meat, rice, salsa, and dressing.  The baptism started at 11:00 a.m.  Rich and Katie's family came (since they were in town), the Rali's came, Hornings, the Wickens, the Butterfields from our ward, Sue Eixenberger, Nicole Gabler, and the Meeks (Alegra's other teacher and brother Meek conducted).  It was a really nice baptism.  Rich talked on baptism, I talked about the Holy Ghost, Russ baptized and confirmed her, and grammy gave her testimony.

Such a special day and the spirit was so strong.

Alegra got a bit nervous before her baptism started but she did great.

Afterwards we had lunch at our house. We did a Cafe Rio style salad or burrito with all the toppings. Because it has been so warm, the kids were able to jump on the trampoline and play outside.

Thanksgiving 2017

It was a warm Thanksgiving this year.  I ended up going to the gym in the morning, played with the kids, Shawn made the sweet potato/apple dish, then Shawn and I went on a road ride, kids played on the trampoline, and then we went over to Russ and Ali's house around 3:00 for Thanksgiving dinner.  Ali and Russ had made a beautiful turkey and gravy.  Grammy made mashed potatoes, mushrooms, stuffing, and rolls and we brought the sweet potato/apple dish and an apple pie (I had made the apple pie several months before and frozen it).  I unfortunately didn't take too many pictures but it was a fun Thanksgiving.  We ate dinner, talked, and then played LRC with money.  And low and behold, Alegra won the pot.  She was SOOOOOO excited!!!!
