About a week after Alegra's baptism I had this great idea for a Christmas gift for Alegra. To fly Alegra out to Isla's baptism with Grammy on January 13th. My mom was great with it but then I called to check if it would be o.k. with Naomi. Naomi said that would be great, but then she said, what are you doing next weekend (December 8th and 9th). I said "nothing". She said she was going to have Isla's birthday party at Disneyland and that we should come to it. I kind of laughed and shrugged it off. The next day I thought about it more and Naomi and i ended up talking again. She was serious and said she could help us with plane tickets with Ryan's miles. I knew it would hurt the other kids feelings so that was the hard part for me, but this was a once in a lifetime experience for Alegra to have a birthday party with Isla at Disneyland. So we decided to go for it. I didn't tell Alegra until Thursday night, the night before. Shawn and I gave her this note. The cool thing about this is on the way to gymnastics earlier on Thursday we were talking how it was Isla's birthday the next day and Alegra was like, "I wish I could jump on a plane and be with her on her birthday!" I was like, wouldn't that be the best present EVER. And she said yes. Little did she know!!!
Cruz and Lexi weren't too happy about it. Lexi balled when I told her but then I told her I would take her to the trampoline place on Monday when I got back and she cheered right back up. Cruz held a grudge a little bit longer (I didn't include we were going to Disneyland right when we told them, just that we were going out to Isla's birthday party).
Friday morning we got Cruz and Lexi on the bus and then he took off for the airport. It was a short, easy flight to LA. We landed at about noon and Naomi picked us up. We then went to Isla's school to pick her up. Afterwards we grabbed lunch at Wahoo's (my favorite place to eat in California). Katie brought Ezra there and then the 3 kids and Naomi and I headed to Anaheim to the Disney Grand California Hotel. We checked in at about 3. The tree and gingerbread house in the lobby.
Mini chairs in the lobby to watch Micky Mouse shows.
Isla's friends Ruby and her mom Beverly and Ollie and his mom Sam came to the hotel at about 6 p.m. and then we went into California Adventure Park to eat dinner and then ride California Screaming and the swings ride.
After a couple of rides we went to Downtown Disney to get a treat at Sprinkles before calling it a night. We had breakfast reservations the next morning at 7:40 a.m.
Breakfast at the Storyteller with some of the characters.
After breakfast the 3 girls had a salon appointment at 9:30 at the Bibbidy Bobbidy Boo Boutique in fantasyland. We have NEVER done this before, it was sooooooo fun for Alegra!
The girls were treated like a real princess!
Isla wanted to all be in matching dresses so Naomi splurged and got them all Belle outfits. They looked so cute and everyone in the park stared at them :)
After the princess makeover we rode Matterhorn, Space Mountain, and then Autotopia. Katie and Clara came out for the day and met us. My beautiful princess.
It was REALLY crowded at Disneyland so we went out to the Island for the kids to run around for a bit.
Disney knows how to decorate for Christmas. It was magical
Naomi had made lunch reservations with the princesses at 2:40 at Ariels Grotto. It was so fun!!!
After lunch Ruby and her mom and Ollie and his mom left. We went back to the Hotel for a bit so the girls could swim and then went back out to the park.
Pretty mainstream!
Thunder Mountain ride and then ice cream, carmel apples, and churros on Main Street
We had to check out It's a Small World before calling it a night!
On the way out Disney Main Street turned magical and fake snow started falling. It was so cool!!
Next morning character breakfast with just Naomi, Isla, Alegra, and myself!
These girls really did have so much fun. It truly was a once in a lifetime experience for Alegra and hopefully wonderful memories for her. Ryan and Naomi were so generous in helping us make these dreams come true!!!! We love you Isla and are so glad you are 8.
