Thanksgiving and St. George

We had a different Thanksgiving this year.  Lexi's team entered a soccer competition that started on the Friday after Thanksgiving.  We committed to playing a few months ago, so I knew our Thanksgiving would be different. My mom was going to go to St. George with us so we decided to do something really simple - go out to eat.  I was late in calling places and the only place I could find that still had a reservation left was up at the Atrium at Snowbird.  Our reservation was at 1:15 and that was perfect so we could hit the road after.  A week before Thanksgiving my mom realized that Walker was having his baptism the Saturday after Thanksgiving, so she decided to stay home.  She still went with us up to Snowbird to eat and it really was lovely. I am not a big "eat out" person for holidays, but this was really nice!!!  The food was good, the setting was beautiful, and I loved my company.   After our Thanksgiving meal, we paced the car up and headed to St. George.  We checked into the Tru hotel around 7 that evening.  The room was a bit small, but we brought our own cot and made it work.  Lexi had 2 games on Friday.  The first game was at 11:15 and they held their own. Her team ended up losing 0-2 but they had chances to score and it wasn't a blow out at all.  Her game at 4:15 was much tougher.  The team was REALLY good.  They lost 1-5, but they pretty much played defense the entire game.  Lexi got taken down really hard and was down on the ground for a bit, but I have to hand it to her, she is so tough and was able to go back in and play.  Their last game was at 10:15 Saturday morning.  I was so proud of their team, they came out fighting and didn't let down the entire game.  They ended up losing 0-2.  The girls looked good and played hard though!

We had a fun time being together in St. George. We ate out, enjoyed the sun, went on a walk, and Shawn and I did a little bike ride together.  We watched a movie, cheered Lexi on, and spent time as a family!  So grateful for this family of mine!!!!

Pictures loaded backwards -so here we go. Kids loved playing pool that was in the lobby of our hotel.
Fun walk along the Virgin River Saturday afternoon.

Moms cheering on their girls at the game!
Hot tub and polar plunge challenges at the hotel pool!
Practicing modeling at lunch!

So proud of our tough Lexi!
Between games Lexi chowed down on Cafe Rio!

Lexi and her baby Olive. It was fun to have Olive with us.  The hotel we stayed out allowed dogs, that's part of the reason we stayed there.

Our Thankgiving Meal at Snowbird before we headed down to St. George
