Halloween 2022 will not go down as one of my favorites. We had been arguing with Cruz regarding grades and respect on Sunday and it just got me very upset. I picked up Grammy for Lexi's last Granite Halloween parade and Shawn and Olive walked over. There is a new principle this year so the parade was outside and it just didn't feel like the good ol' days. I was sad it changed and I was sad it was my last year at an Elementary school parade. We came home and Shawn had to rush to work to get on a phone call. I was up taking sheets off beds and getting the house cleaned and he showed up - white as a ghost. I couldn't figure out what was going on. He had hit a deer in his Porsche on the way to work. Luckily he didn't get hurt but his car has some damage and he said the deer went about 15 feet up in the air and did several flips. He couldn't see where it landed because there was a sharp embankment where the deer flew down. Shawn was so upset. And really in the whole skem of things, it was very minor, but he has been under so much stress at work, it just added to the pile. I was running around with various things on Halloween and was almost late to Lexi's party. I played bingo with the kids, which was fun. I had to take Cruz to the dermo after school so I was late getting dinner on and the kids dispersed before I could even get a family halloween photo. I think this was the first year I missed. Overall, kinda a bummer halloween. Lexi went out with friends and I stayed home to pass out candy, but we had very few trick or treaters. I actually ended up taking down Halloween decorations, which is super anticlimactic and very boring of me. Alegra went over to Bella's house for a party, we dropped Cruz off with Jordan to trick or treat with his hockey buddies, and Lexi went with Deegan, Jess, Declan, and Jane around the neighborhood.
