The Night Before Halloween....

We carved pumpkins tonight. Cruz was doing a pokeman raid with his friends.  He missed out on the family fun.

Pictures loaded backwards.....but this is Alegra's final project!

MORP - Junior Year - Cruz

Cruz was asked to More by Lily, a 10th grader on the drill team.  The drill girls went together, so it was a big group!  It was fun that Cruz has some of his guy friends in the group too.

I think the drill team theme was Disney.  Cruz and Lily were Winnie the Pooh and Eeyore.

Olive turns 5!!

Olive's 5th birthday was on Sunday October 22nd. We weren't all together so we celebrated with her last night. I made some homemade dog treats and we sang to her. The girls also gave her "pupa chino" whipping cream on her birthday!

Talk in Sacrament

Alegra gave a nice talk in Sacrament on Sunday October 22nd!

I enjoyed listening to general conference a couple weeks ago.  The talk I wanted to refer today was the talk by Sister Emily Belle Freeman called, “Walking in Covenant Relationship with Christ.”  I related to the story she shared at the beginning of her talk.  She talked about how she heard about the Jesus Trail from Nazareth to Capernum and she wanted to walk this trail.  A few weeks before she was set to leave for Israel, she broke her foot.  She decided she was still going to go on her trip and do her best to be on that trail. Sister Freeman said.

(quote) “I navigated the steep path and the boulders for a time on my own. Then, moved by the sincerity of my commitment, Mya (my guide) pulled out a thin rope, tied it to the handlebars of my scooter, and began to pull. She pulled me up the hills, through lemon orchards, and along the banks of the Sea of Galilee. At the journey’s end, I expressed gratitude for my sweet guide, who had helped me accomplish something I could have never accomplished on my own.” (end quote)

I play soccer.  This past spring, we had tryouts. The yearly tryouts are stressful and all the clubs hold the tryouts on the same days so it makes it really difficult.  I made a team but several of my teammates made other teams.  It was a challenge going to practice feeling like I was left behind.  I had been very comfortable with my team before.  I was sad and didn’t know if I wanted to continue on this new team.  I prayed.  I decided to keep playing. This team has turned out to be really good. I feel like Heavenly Father really helped me, just like Mya helped Sister Freeman on the trail.

Sister Freeman also talked about Jacob’s dream, she referred to a 5 finger promise the Lord gave Jacob:

·       I am with you.

·       I will keep you safe.

·       I will bring you home again.

·       I will not leave you.

·       I will keep my promise to you.7

I am grateful that because I was baptized I have these promises available to me.  I am grateful that I know I have a loving Heavenly Father.  I am grateful for Jesus Christ and the atonement.  I am grateful I can pray.  In the name of Jesus Christ. Amen

Happenings this week

We had fall break this past week.  Grandma Frye came into town to see some games.  Cruz was invited last minute to Lake Powell on a house boat with the Larsen family.  We had great weather for fall break!

Hopefully I get more pictures from Cruz, but this is one I got from Dave Larsen saying, "the boys checking out the wildlife."  Haha!!
Lots of bball practicing.  Pushups if she misses more than 5 layups, this is her rule!
Pretty drive up BCC!

Tramp time!
Cornbellys on Friday with Grammy Raddon, Elle, and Walker!

On Saturday we went up to Francis to Jeff and Monicas place. The girls helped prep the horses stalls and clean them up and Shawn helped Jeff move a bunch of bails of hay!

Girls drive up the canyon

The girls and I drove up LCC last Sunday before the boys got home from Idaho. Most of the leaves are falling and the color has definitely faded, but it was still beautiful.  Lexi wouldn't get out of the car!!!
