Las Vegas and Prom

Grammy, Alegra, and I drove down to Las Vegas on Friday morning, March 1st.  The winds were super strong on the drive, but otherwise a pretty good drive down.  We checked into our hotel and Alegra had a team meeting.  They played their first game on Friday night.  It was windy and a little chilly.

They won 2-0

Hanging in the  hotel room.  Alegra's next game was Saturday morning at 10.  They won that game 1-0.  It was very, very windy, cold, and rainy.  The team had a team lunch at Olive Garden.  After Olive Garden we discovered grammy's car had a flat tire.  Alegra went with some teammates to go shop for a bit before the 2nd game for the day and grammy and I went to Discount Tire to get her tire fixed.  Luckily they were able to patch it, a small miracle. If they couldn't fix it we would have had to order tires in and that would have taken a few days.  Alegra's 2nd game got posponed to 8 p.m. due to the high winds and CRAZY weather.  It was a shortened game.  They ended up tieing the team 1-1.
Grammy stayed home to watch the BYU game, plus the first game the weather had been pretty miserable to sit out in.
After the tie!

Sunday afternoon the girls played in the championship game. Our teams hotel was not on the strip and Alegra had never really been to the strip (or remembered it).  So before the game we headed over to the Venetian hotel and to walk around the shops a bit!

After walking around a bit we left to get ready for her game.  Alegra's team ended up playing the team they had tied the night before.  The team was really dirty, tripped girls, swore at the girls, pulled jerseys, etc. and the ref called nothing.  It was a very frustrating game.  Her team lost 2-1.  But they still got 2nd in the tournament, which is pretty awesome!
On Saturday night Cruz had prom.  I was sad to miss it.  He asked a girl from Alpine.  His friend Miles likes this girl from Alpine and Miles convinced Andrew and Cruz to ask her friends so they could form a little group.  I think he had a good time.  They went to Airborne for their day activity and then took pictures, went to dinner at Fratelli's, the dance, and then bowling.  It was a major snowstorm on Saturday in Utah so I am just glad they were safe as they drove all over the place!
