Cruz's Turtle Themed 4th Birthday Party
Our birthday boy who had so much fun today!
Cruz's actual birthday is next Thursday May 5th but we are going to be out of town so we had his birthday party today. It was my turn to host playgroup this week so I turned it into a birthday party and invited a couple more of Cruz's friends. A few weeks ago I asked Cruz what theme he wanted for his 4th birthday? He said he wanted a "turtle theme" party.....so that is what we did.
And this little lady didn't miss out on any of the action!! :)
We sent out Turtle Invitations. We invited Burke Staker, William Bradley, Crew Heaton, Griffin Anthony (playgroup boys), Carter Kehl (neighbor and one of Cruz's buddies), and Mac Spencer (a boy a little younger but we walk over to his home all the time). All the boys were able to make it.
I wanted to purchase a "Turtle Pinata" for the party but they were expensive by the time they were shipped (I only found them online). Shawn decided he could make one. He started about a week ago and it was a process as you can see from the pictures. He papermached a ballon. It took several days because layers had to dry. It turned out so cute.
I also had a turtle and balloons for the front door.
I made cupcakes and put them together to make a turtle for Cruz's birthday cake! It was cute but boy were they messy when the boys ate them!!! :)
We also had a turtle "pin the eye on the turtle" game set to play but the boys were having too much fun jumping on the trampoline and playing pirates on the swing set. We ended up playing that game after Alegra went to bed with the 3 of us!
Fun pictures of the boys! They sure did have fun and it was nice dad came home a little early from work so he could be home for the party!
Happy BIrthday Cruz, we love you so much!! We are going to have a little family party in the RV on his actual birthday too, but the turtle party was a blast!!

Hand, Foot, Mouth
Alegra has had on and off days the last 4 days. I didn't think too much of it. I thought it was probably teething.....but when she woke up extremely early again this morning and could not be consoled I thought there might be something wrong. I was worried it was her ears. I was able to get into Dr. Pete this morning and found out she has hand, foot, mouth disease. She doesn't have any sores on her hands or feet but her throat has large sores in it. No wonder she kept pointing at her mouth (I thought that meant teeth)! Unfortunately there is really nothing we can do about it. It just has to run its course. I think (hopefully) we are more on the tail end of it.
First mountain bike ride TOGETHER for the season!
