Easter Egg Hunt for Mom

This morning I was cleaning out our pantry and Cruz had his school Easter bag with 3 eggs and a few pieces of random candy. I was just wanting to de junk so I threw the whole bag in the garbage. A few minutes later I took Alegra up to my bathroom to take a shower. Cruz was running around and he kept asking me how to spell my name while I was showering, so I thought he might be making me an art project. I continued getting ready and then I changed Alegra's clothes. On the way downstairs I spotted an egg that was under our upstairs chair. It looked like an egg that was in Cruz's school Easter bag. I yelled down to Cruz that I had found an egg. He didn't seem surprised. I was like, "did you hide this, when did you hide this?" I was kind of confused. I don't think I saw that egg before, did I? Cruz came up with a little smirk on his face. He said, "open it up." I opened the egg to find 2 starbursts in it. He then said, "mom, there are 2 more eggs hidden." After looking long and hard I found the other 2 eggs. Each of the eggs had 2 starburst each in them. I couldn't figure out when or how Cruz did this. Then, I went into the kitchen and Cruz's school Easter bag was on the floor. He had opened the candies I threw away and divided them up and put them into the plastic eggs I threw away. I couldn't believe how creative he was. He then said something that broke my heart, "mom didn't you like my art project (talking about his Easter bag that he made as a bunny to collect his school treats)." I was like, "oops it was a mistake that it ended up in the garbage." I then quickly hung the bag up on the wall. He is getting so smart and creative. Tonight he made a really cool spaceship out of some scrap construction paper. I love that little guy!
