Alegra's 2 Year Check Up

Alegra had her 2 year check up today. She is 34.5 inches tall (68%), 25.8 lbs (35%), and her head is 48 cm (64%). The doctor said she looks great and she developing on track. Luckily, she didn't have to have any shots today, which made this visit so nice! :) We are so proud of our little princess!

Playing

The kids have been playing together more lately, sometimes really well and sometimes not so much! Shawn and I have been trying to organize stuff in the basement so we love it when they can just set up little restaurants or something together!

This year we started a new tradition that I am glad we started. Each night, starting on the 1st of November, we would say something we were thankful for. THANKSGIVING AND PARTY DAY!

We had a wonderful Thanksgiving Day and we truly have so much to be grateful for. Cruz and dad started the day off bright and early with a bike ride up to Temple Quarry. Once they got to the trail they climbed on some of the boulders that were in the area. They had a really fun time.

I worked on getting some yams and a yummy marshmallow salad put together. At 10 we all went over to a field near Russ and Ali's home for a Turkey Bowl. Back in Chicago it was my dads tradition to put together a turkey bowl. It was usually freezing so it was a nice change to have it quite balmy in Utah. Russ invited some neighbors and some family friends that just moved to Utah from Chicago. Dad and Cruz had fun playing but Cruz just mainly stood in the middle of the field, it was kinda funny.

We came home to watch some Packers and have some rest time. It was warm enough for dad to go on a bike ride. About 3 p.m. we headed to Grammy's for a big Thanksgiving feast. Ali made stuffing and a peach dish, I made a salad dish and yams, and Gram did the rest. She really outdid herself, everything tasted AMAZING!

After dinner Alegra opened her birthday presents. Cruz was really into helping her! :) I also had made a "big cupcake" and we sang to Alegra. All and all it was a very nice Thanksgiving Day. I am so grateful for family, friends, my children, my husband, our comfortable living situation, our health, and my husbands job!

Tent in the Room

Walt grew out of his tent and so they brought it over for Cruz. We set it up in his room Wednesday night and he decided he wanted to sleep in it. We took a picture of him Wednesday night. He did stay in it the whole night but when I asked him about it the next day he said his bed is more "cozy".

Alegra's Birthday DAY!

Cruz trying to help her head blow out the candle!

Alegra had a fun birthday today! We dropped Cruz off at school and went to her Little Gym Class. She LOVES Little Gym. She had on her birthday shirt that Aunt Leigh gave her and the teacher made a big fuss over her. She even got a pink balloon at the end of class. She then went with me to run a few errands. We picked up Cruz from school and then met Grammy and Aunt Rebecca for lunch. After lunch it was nap time. I had to go to the doctor this afternoon so Alegra stayed home and played with Grammy, Cruz, and Carter. She wore her princess hat and had a blast! For dinner we had pasta with white sauce, which she loves. We talked to Grandpa and Grandma Frye and played with the new toy they gave her a wood mixer. She loves to pretend in her kitchen, so it was the perfect gift. We then cut a little piece of cake for each of us and sang, "happy birthday to Alegra." She really liked that. It took her about 10 times but she did finally blow out her number 2 candle. We didn't go crazy with her birthday. We are going to have a little celebration on Thanksgiving evening with Grammy, Aunt Rebecca, and Russ and Ali's family. I have a "big-sized" cupcake that I am going to make for her and we have a couple of presents to give to her then.

Cruz made this pilgrim hat at school today!

Dentist

Alegra had her first dentist visit this afternoon and ol' Cruz is a pro! He showed his sister just how it is done. The dentist said both of their teeth look great. Cruz has 20 teeth and Alegra has 16 teeth (her 2 year molars will probably come in soon). I was proud of how good they both did in the dentist chair!

Happy Birthday Alegra!

Today is Alegra's 2nd Birthday! I can't believe our little girl is 2. We took her to get her 2 year pictures last week and they turned out so cute. She cooperated so well. The photographer would tell her what to do and she would just do it. She is getting to be such a big girl. She loves to laugh and giggle and I love it when Cruz gets her really going. She loves Cruz and wants to be just like him. She is getting more into her baby dolls lately and she likes to change their diapers and take them for stroller rides. She looks at my stomach all the time and asks, "baby?" with a very confused look. I have told her there is a baby in there but she looks and looks trying to see it, that is pretty cute. She is talking a ton now and is linking words very well. After she puts on her shoes or jacket Alegra will say, "Cute?"......like, don't I look cute! Some other wonderful things about Legs:
-she LOVES cottage cheese
-She goes down for bed at night very good but doesn't sleep long for her nap (and she usually cries when she is put down for her nap)
-She loves her "whale" and "puppy" stuffed animals and also her soft pink blanket for bed time
-Alegra can tell us if she pooped her pants and we have tried a few times to get her to the potty, so she is not potty trained yet, but she is getting closer
-Alegra loves to say "hi" or "hello" on the phone
-Lately she has become very shy when a new or not so new person comes around and she will hid her head in my shoulder
-She LOVES her Little Gym class
-She loves to hang on to daddy's neck off his back as he brings her down the stairs after work
-She loves to get a stool and help out in the kitchen
-She loves to draw and color
-She is my scribbler, I find notes and books with little Alegra markings on them
-She likes to tickle her "hairy chest" and say "tickle, tickle, tickle"
-Alegra has favorite things to wear, lately she has been better about letting me dress her, but this summer she had to pick out the shirt or shorts she was going to wear, stubborn little thing!
