Gardner Village

Grammy, the kids, and I had a wonderful morning/afternoon at Gardner Village yesterday. We happen to plan everything great! We got there at 10a.m. before it got too crowded. We decided to go over to the petting zoo first. They used to have pony rides that went around in a circle (kind of boring)but they changed the pony rides. They actually took the kids on a walk around the village on the ponies. It happen to be $2 dollar Tuesdays too, so we paid for the kids to do a pony ride, enter the petting part, and run thru the hay maze (which had slides and a trampoline in it). I am not sure how logistically Gardner Village is going to do the walk around pony rides in October when it is super crowded but we happen to be the second people there so we only had to wait 10 minutes. Grammy bought the kids a bag of food to feed the animals and they had a blast feeding the donkey, the pony's, the llamas (momma and baby), the bunnies, and the chickens. Cruz learned a very good lesson though. The baby llama got out of its area and Cruz was going crazy trying to catch it. He started chasing it and yelling loudly. The llama turned around and started coming after Cruz kind of kicking, etc. Cruz got really scared, I was kind of scared too. We got the animal calmed down and I talked to Cruz about how we need to be calm around animals and not scare them. Hopefully he learned this lesson :). The kids then went on their pony rides. Alegra had on the perfect shirt. She was wearing her "Teton County Sheriff" shirt she got in Victor over the weekend. She definitely looked like a little cowgirl. She had gotten a Jackson Hole pink shirt over the summer when we went to Teton Village one day when she was sick. All the kids were running around doing fun activities and she was just too sick, so she got to pick a shirt. She LOVED that shirt. A couple of weeks ago I knocked the last bit of bleach that was in the bottle over and it happen to spot that shirt. Alegra has asked to wear that shirt every day since. I told her next time we go to Idaho I would buy her a new shirt since I ruined her shirt. In the Victor Emporium they had this "Angry Bears" shirt in Cruz's size. That kid loves his angry birds shirts so much we decided to get him a shirt too. I have had to wash it every night so he can wear it everyday! :)

Back to Gardner Village. After the pony rides the kids played in the hay maze. We barely had time to walk around and see the witches and grab some quick lunch. We got Cruz to school 3 minutes after 1:00 so he was a little late but it was well worth it. It was such a pretty, nice, fall day out and the kids were having so much fun. I really do love that place in the fall.
