So I posted a few weeks back about Alegra's fall on the concrete stairs from our garage to our home. Well, she fell again yesterday and we weren't as lucky with the teeth. Last time she knocked the teeth kind of up and into her gums some. This time she was racing Cruz out to the trampoline and fell on the cement right before the turf and her front tooth came out root and all. Her nose is really scratched up. She wasn't bleeding as bad this time and she did calm down a bit faster but I feel so bad for her. Plus that little tooth is going to be missing a long time. When it happened I quickly called the dentist emergency line (which I remembered the number from 2 weeks ago :)) and talked to the nurse on call. It was at about 5:15 so I knew they weren't in the office. I asked if I should try to put the tooth back in. She said that was a bad idea because it could then infect the permanent tooth. Alegra just cried and I held her. I felt so helpless, my poor baby girl. I called Shawn and luckily he was able to leave work. Another blessing, Lexi was sleeping so I could hold Alegra. Lexi usually takes a small cat nap at this time but she slept and slept until well after Shawn got home so we could focus on helping Alegra. Poor thing!! Stitches and toothless all before 3!!!!
Cute Cruz wanted a picture this morning too as I was trying to document Alegra's face. He was so cute with her last night and today. He was trying to tell Alegra how lucky she was because the tooth fairy was going to visit her. This kind of freaked Alegra out and she wanted nothing to do with a tooth fairy. We left her tooth on the counter in the kitchen and the tooth fairy left her tooth and a dollar in the kitchen. This morning Cruz was very animated in telling Alegra how lucky she was because the tooth fairy even left her tooth!!!
