We had a busy fun filled day on Halloween. It started out early! Instead of going to school in the afternoon, which he typically does, all of the kindergartens came in the morning. The entire school had a Halloween Parade at about 9:30 in the morning. The school set up chairs in the gym and the students paraded past all of the parents, showing off their costumes. After the parade the Frye's took the girls home and I got to stay and help out with Cruz's Halloween party. I was in charge of the game and Rick and Shawn made a bean bag toss board for me and Kathy made some bean bags. There were 6 stations for the kids to rotate around to. They had a lot of fun at the bean bag toss. Cruz was pretty hyped up! After school the girls and the Frye's picked Cruz and I up and we headed over to Shawn's annual Halloween Potluck Lunch at work. Shawn dressed up as Lance Armstrong for the party. It was actually pretty funny. Last minute he thought of this idea. He dressed up as a biker but then taped one of Lexi's dropper (syringes) to his arm and wrote E.P.O. on it. The kids had fun trick or treating around his office and eating lunch. We then headed home for some down time while we got ready for a little Halloween party. I invited our neighbors Misty, Jon, Zoe (6), and Jack (4) over plus our other neighbors Tom and Shelley. My mom and Aunt Rebecca came and our crew with Grandpa and Grandma Frye. I made a corn chowder, my mom made a tortilla soup, Misty made a lentil soup, my mom also brought a little bit of a pumpkin soup. Kathy made some dilly bread and then we had sugar cookies and pumpkin pie for dessert. It was all pretty yummy. The kids were eager to get trick or treating so it was the perfect thing before the big night. I planned a soup party a couple of weeks ago and it is usually chilly out but it was actually in the 70's for Halloween. That is the warmest Halloween on record. It was fun to see the kids trick or treat. Lexi was loving it to. She just kept giggling. Alegra got scared at a few houses (that had scary music playing), and Cruz was totally into getting candy!!!!
Grammy won't like this picture because her eyes are closed but it was the only one I got with her in it!
Yesterday afternoon was a beautiful day. It was a fun day to play outback with Grandpa and Grandma Frye. It was fun to have them here for a visit. They left after our fun filled day of Halloween.
