8th Anniversary

Our 8th anniversary was yesterday Monday, August 19th.  I can't believe it has been 8 years!  In some ways it feels like yesterday but in others I can't imagine our lives without our children.  So we lived it up this year.  Ryan was playing in Vegas over the weekend (Saturday the 17th and Sunday the 18th) so we decided to go and see him.  We were able to get a super cool room at The Cosmopolitan thru Ryan and Grammy was available to watch the kiddos.  We had never left the kids, not even for one night, so it was a BIG DEAL!!!  We left Friday at 3.  The kids were pretty good when we left, they are pretty used to grammy so I think that helped.  We drove the 6 hours to Vegas and got there at 9 p.m. Vegas time (we stopped at Paradise Bakery in St. George for a late dinner).  We checked in and then decided to walk on the strip.  It was still so hot and so crowded, but it was fun to be out and about, I haven't been to Vegas in a few years.  We walked to Treasure Island to pick up our tickets for the show the next night but the Box Office was closed.  We got to bed around 11 that night.  The next morning we worked out at the gym, played tennis at the hotel (which was so fun), eat lunch at Cabo Wabo, shopped at the Miracle Mile shops, and laid in the sun a bit.  Shawn gambled when I went to the pool. Then we came back to the room and got dressed and ready to hit the town.  We took a cab back to Treasure Island go see Mystere. It was pretty cool.  After the show we took a cab back to The Cosmo, because we had dinner reservations we had to make.  We ate at this yummy fish, greek place called Milo at the Cosmo.  I thought it was good but a little salty.  We picked our own fish they prepared for us, which was interesting.  We really didn't know what our bill would be because we picked this fish and knew it was $51 a pound but we didn't know how much it weighed. In the back of my mind I was looking for a less expensive fish but I couldn't find one. It did end up being delicious. With the fish we got the Greek Salad and an appetizer of Octopus.  I have NEVER had Octopus and it came highly rated, so we decided to try it.  Our fish ended up being 1.5 lbs, so luckily it wasn't too bad (probably our most expensive meal thought).  After dinner we went back to Ryan's room to hang with him before he went on for his show.  We didn't walk down to the club with him until about 12:45 a.m.  It is crazy how wild people went for him. It is pretty amazing to see.  Ryan played from 1-4 and we stayed the entire time. We had a private table area which was nice and it was fun to be there.  We could also stay out late because we knew our kids wouldn't be waking up at the crack of dawn. :)  We slept until 11:45 the next day. It was pretty amazing.  We packed up and got organized to leave right after or during Ryan's pool party.  Ryan had to meet with Shaun Neff, from Neff clothing line for breakfast/lunch at 1:00.  Ryan usually never leaves his room when he is in Vegas but we met Shaun at a small cafe in the Cosmo and it seemed to work fine. We kind of tagged along on Ryan's business deal, but it was fun for us.  We finished up and it was time for Ryan to get ready to go on.  We walked to the pool area with him and the security guards again at about 1:45. Again, people went nuts.  It was fun to experience. During breakfast, the clouds rolled in and it looked pretty bad by the time Ryan played.  He played for 1 hour at the pool party but it started getting windy, rainy, thunder, and nasty.  At 4:00 they moved him inside and that is when we decided to take off.  Again at the pool party we were either behind the DJ area or at our own cabana area.  We drove thru some crazy weather but made it home by 11:00 p.m.  It was an awesome world wind weekend.  The kids did great with Grammy and had fun, so all in all, we are SO GLAD WE WENT!!!!  HAPPY 8 YEARS!!!!!
 Lunch at Cabo Wabo!
At Milo's Fish Market for our anniversary dinner!
 Dinner Date!
Ryan's room overlooks the fountains at the Bellagio. It seriously was the best view of the water show!

Screens all over the place showing Ryan at work.  This was over one of the bar areas.
 Summer lovin' pool party!
So I really didn't get decked out for the pool party, infact I barely brushed my hair, thinking "pool party" getting wet, etc.  But I forgot that EVERYONE gets DECKED OUT ALL THE TIME IN VEGAS.  Plus with inclement weather I had no desire to get in the water, but there was also no room in the water because it was packed with bodies!
Crazy weather on our drive home
