Lacrosse Pictures

Cruz had Covid and Influenza A the week before when he had his lacrosse banquet, so we didn't get to celebrate his great season. But these are cute pictures he got!

Memorial Weekend 2022 - Swan Valley, ID

We drove up to Swan Valley, ID on Friday morning.  We timed it to hit Maddox for lunch, which grammy has totally turned us on to.  We stopped by the graves (my grandparents) in Idaho to decorate before making our way into Swan Valley.  It was about 72 degrees so we dropped things off and then attached the boat to go up on the lake. It was the best looking of all the days we would be there.  The boat seemed to be working great.  Lexi, Cruz, and Shawn actually took turns behind the boat.  Lexi wakeboarded 4 times!  Cruz and Shawn both took 1 turn surfing. The water temperature was literally 55 degrees. Their hands were all numb when they got in the boat!

Saturday morning grammy tried teaching Cruz how she makes her world famous french toast! :)

We worked in the yard weeding and taking trees down.  It was a light rain all day, but luckily it wasn't too cold yet.  Cruz was a really good helper.  At about 4 we loaded up and headed to Victor.  We stopped to say hi to Stacey's family in Victor before going to the pizza place for dinner. The kids love the games they have in that place.  Then on to the emporium for milk shakes before heading home to watch the original "Karate Kid" we had recorded.

On Sunday we went to church and then drove up the Alpine way to pick up Shawn from his bike ride. It was cold and dumping rain.  He was drenched and freezing when we met up with him in the Hoback, right after the rapid, Lunch Counter.  We drove in to Jackson Hole to eat lunch and walk around, but it turned super cold and rainy.  On the drive home it was literally snowing at the top of the pass.

We have a picture of Cruz and Dawson doing that exact face when the were 5 years old and playing at Toliver's pond!

We stopped to see Toliver's at their place before going home to watch the finals of the Eastern NBA playoffs, between Celtics and the Heat. The Celtics barely won.  Monday morning was rainy and cold too but we were able to finish up a few things we still needed to do and then took off for home. It was a really nice weekend with our little family and grammy. I love going up to Idaho.  There is something so peaceful and calming up there.

Decorating my dads grave

On Thursday afternoon, Alegra, grammy, and I went to decorate my dads grave. Lexi was finishing up her last day of school and Cruz decided not to come. My mom always gets the prettiest bouquet for my dad. I love it because she just loves him so much and wants to honor him.

Alegra's last soccer game for the season

Alegra played her last soccer game for the season last Thursday. They won 3-1.  They had an undefeated spring season, and get to be bumped up to Division 3, yay!!

Alegra and June have been on CFC since 1st grade together.  Their whole team in going to move to Avalanche, another club.  It will be strange not seeing them in CFC red together!

Lots happening for Lexi this past week too

Lexi had their final game of the season on a cold Thursday night.  They won which means they were top in their Metro B division.  They worked so hard!
Lexi also had her 4th and 5th grade program last Thursday and Friday.  On Thursday it was for the school and Friday was the parent performance.  She was great!
Breakfast buddy after Alegra's soccer game yesterday!

Lexi got a lego set and she was great at building it!

Fun last weeks of school for Alegra

Alegra had a fun week last week.  Her friend Bella, turned 12, and her mom surprised her last Tuesday with a big surprise party. It was neon theme with dancing, a drink station, and lots of fun.  Alegra's soccer team decided to make a big move and we are going to switch clubs.  And yesterday, Saturday, her team played and was able to beat the team 8-0.  Alegra had some great corner kicks and excellent passes. It was an early game so we celebrated at Kneaders afterwards with unlimited french toast.  Later yesterday, we found out her team earned first place in their division, so they can move up to D3, this is huge, they have been trying for this move for a year.

They have their last game on Thursday.  The team they play is in second place but because they lost their game yesterday, it guarantees the girls will move up, no matter what happens on Thursday, but I hope they can go out on a win!

Lexi was inducted into the safety patrol

Grammy and I went to a little program at the end of last week to induct Lexi into the safety patrol committee for next year.  Excited for this opportunity for her!

Cruz's Lacrosse Season

Cruz's lacrosse season ended strong.  The kid that played his position got a concussion so Cruz got to start the last 3 games of the season. The first game he didn't play great, the second game Cruz was on fire, and the third game he played pretty good.  The season ended last Friday.  Cruz was sick all week last week but he pushed thru because he had this opportunity to start and play. By Monday of this week (the night of the closing banquet for lacrosse) Cruz was so sick I decided to take him to instacare. He ended up testing positive for influenza A and covid.  No wonder one day before a game last wednesday, I picked him up from school early and he slept 5 hours, I had to wake him up and give him a Coke before the game.  Not my finest mom moment.  But I told Cruz about Michael Jordan and how he played insane when he had the stomach flu one game.  Cruz pulled out a true Michael Jordan story and played well and had 2 goals.  He has been home pretty dang sick in his room this week.  I think Cruz was so happy he played lacrosse this year.  He was able to make connections and friendships that can only happen on sports teams.  His coach was great and he is starting to get the love of the game back.

Shawn was always great at volunteering to do the stats when he was in town
Cruz's Biggest Fans!!!!

Love watching my boy play!

Love this picture so much!!!
