Memorial Weekend 2022 - Swan Valley, ID

We drove up to Swan Valley, ID on Friday morning.  We timed it to hit Maddox for lunch, which grammy has totally turned us on to.  We stopped by the graves (my grandparents) in Idaho to decorate before making our way into Swan Valley.  It was about 72 degrees so we dropped things off and then attached the boat to go up on the lake. It was the best looking of all the days we would be there.  The boat seemed to be working great.  Lexi, Cruz, and Shawn actually took turns behind the boat.  Lexi wakeboarded 4 times!  Cruz and Shawn both took 1 turn surfing. The water temperature was literally 55 degrees. Their hands were all numb when they got in the boat!

Saturday morning grammy tried teaching Cruz how she makes her world famous french toast! :)

We worked in the yard weeding and taking trees down.  It was a light rain all day, but luckily it wasn't too cold yet.  Cruz was a really good helper.  At about 4 we loaded up and headed to Victor.  We stopped to say hi to Stacey's family in Victor before going to the pizza place for dinner. The kids love the games they have in that place.  Then on to the emporium for milk shakes before heading home to watch the original "Karate Kid" we had recorded.

On Sunday we went to church and then drove up the Alpine way to pick up Shawn from his bike ride. It was cold and dumping rain.  He was drenched and freezing when we met up with him in the Hoback, right after the rapid, Lunch Counter.  We drove in to Jackson Hole to eat lunch and walk around, but it turned super cold and rainy.  On the drive home it was literally snowing at the top of the pass.

We have a picture of Cruz and Dawson doing that exact face when the were 5 years old and playing at Toliver's pond!

We stopped to see Toliver's at their place before going home to watch the finals of the Eastern NBA playoffs, between Celtics and the Heat. The Celtics barely won.  Monday morning was rainy and cold too but we were able to finish up a few things we still needed to do and then took off for home. It was a really nice weekend with our little family and grammy. I love going up to Idaho.  There is something so peaceful and calming up there.
