Biking/Camping Trip - Day #3
Friday, May 6th, 2011. I got to go mountain bike the 16 mile loop that Shawn rode for his race. It was a really fun ride. I kind of felt like a BMX biker because there were lots of these ups and downs on the ride. I really loved the ride, but I was glad I didn't have to race it!!! We had beautiful weather. Pretty warm, about 80 both Friday and Saturday, and then it would drop pretty low at night. Grandpa and Grandma Frye slept in a tent and the 4 of us slept in the RV. We weren't hooked up (RV terminology) so we really didn't access our facilities. We tried to use water sparingly, not use power, and use the port-o-jons. It was nice to have the RV to have someplace to go to get out of the sun. Also, it was nice because it kept the kids a little warmer at night. I guess because we didn't hook up we really weren't able to access all an RV has to offer. It was nice to borrow but they are a beast and I don't think I would ever want to have one. Shawn tried to drink lots of water and rest his legs. The kids had a blast playing in the dirt. We watched as the bikers began to stream into the fairgrounds all day Friday. It was pretty crazy to watch the fairgrounds go from empty to very full!
We each took turns playing "Imaginext" with Cruz over the weekend.
Grandpa Frye and dad went on a little bike ride on Friday to loosen Shawn's legs up.
Alegra loves the dirt!!
Rick and Kathy's tent. Alegra had her pack n play set up in the RV, so that made sleeping 6 a little tight.
