Lunch Date with the Kiddos

I had to take the minivan into Discount Tire to get new tires. Yes, I know, our minivan is less than 2 years old and we already need new tires. Don't get me started on run-flat tires, they stink!!! They don't hold up well at all.....and then if you don't replace them with run-flats you are kind of up a creek when you get a flat tire because they don't come with a spare!!!! I was not willing to pay the HIGH price for run-flats when they only last less than 2 years. I decided the least expensive option for us was to do regular tires, join AAA, so when we do have a flat I can get towed somewhere. That option was much more affordable than run-flats, crazy!!! We really didn't know that about the tires when we bought the van. I LOVE my van, except for the TIRE situation. So long story short, it was lunch time and we had to wait an hour so the kids and I walked over to the Black Bear Diner that was close to the tire shop. Cruz was so excited because I told them they serve breakfast food all day long. Cruz got the chocolate chip pancakes, Alegra got the mac n cheese (she is on a total mac n cheese kick, she wants it at all times of the day), and I got a salad. By the time we were done eating our car was ready. I told Cruz it was his send-off to kindergarten lunch date with his mom and sisters!!

Cruz was sooooo excited when he saw the whip cream on it!

So Happy!

I had to capture the outfit today. Alegra insisted on her red hello kitty leg warmers, with her pink shorts, blue butterfly shirt, white socks, and her basketball shoes (as she likes to call them), wow, she has style!!! :)

Roll stomach to back

Lexi can now roll stomach to back, she is mobile! She has been so good and so happy, it makes me sad because I think she was very uncomfortable the first 3.5 months of her life, but I am so glad she seems so much more comfortable and happy now, yippee!!

Kindergarten Assessment for Cruz

Cruz meet his kindergarten teacher today, Mrs.Oakeson. She tested him for about 20 minutes on colors, shapes, letters, numbers, sound recognition, number recognition, etc. I filled out paperwork in the hallway with the girls. I can't believe I am going to have a kindergartener!!!

LAGOON 2012

I like to take the kids to Lagoon once during the summer. I thought if we went more towards the end of the summer it would be less hot (we have had an extremely hot summer). Well, then I realized that most of the schools went back this week so we shot for this week before Cruz started kindergarten. Although it wasn't very crowded it was still HOT! We had a blast though and there were no lines so that made it all worth it. Grammy came to help me out. Lexi was such a gem. Even though she was hot she just went with the punches. My mom and I took turns following the kids around the "kiddy land" rides. I think this might be the last year for Cruz in this section. He enjoyed it but he would get off the rides and be like, "that wasn't scary!" He raised his hands on all the rides, therefore, Alegra did the same thing! This was Alegra's first time riding the Lagoon rides. The first one she seemed a little scared but the more she rode the more she wanted to ride. There is one roller coaster ride Cruz and I go on and Alegra totally wanted to ride it. I had to take turns riding with them because they were both too short to go alone. Her face was priceless on it and I thought she wasn't having fun but when it came to the end she said it was so fun!!!! We went to the water park to cool off for a bit and then hit more rides. It was a FULL day at Lagoon!!
Alegra's first ride. She really wanted to ride on this one. Cruz went to a different machine. She stayed there by herself. After this ride, she always went with Cruz!

Grandma Raddon's 71st Birthday Party!

We celebrated Grammy birthday tonight with the Utah Raddon/Frye Gang at our home. We had a good ol' midwest dinner of brats, beans, fruit, and corn on the cob. I made a Souther Comfort Coconut Cake for her birthday cake. It turned out pretty yummy if I say so myself. It had all of Grammy's favorites....coconut and lemon, yummy! Cruz, Alegra, and I even made a piñata for the party. By the time we got to piñata time it started to rain outside (which is good because we haven't had any rain in so long) so we did the piñata inside. I made the piñata a little strong by double bagging it, so Uncle Russ ended up having to break it open! It was a very nice evening and I am so happy to have Grammy in our lives!
Happy Birthday!

I can remember taking a picture like this last year at Grandma's surprise 70th birthday party. Alegra was in a little purple romper and she was so young, she has sure grown up this past year!

Cruz and his candy!

Random pics of the Girls!

I took these pictures randomly of the girls. I took them this past month but forgot to download them off our big camera!
