Some time in Idaho

The kids and I drove to Idaho on Wednesday afternoon. Aunt Katie, Uncle Rich, Nicholas, Clara, Ezra, and Walt (Russ's son) were going to be there. It is always fun for the kids to be in Idaho and it is so pretty so we decided to head up. Plus, they could spend time with their cousins. They had a great time. On Thursday we packed it in and went to Bear World and then to Heise. The kids loved going through the Bear World Park and seeing all of the Bears. At the end of the park they have a petting zoo and some little rides. The kids has a blast there. Then we drove over (about 15 minutes away) to Heise. It is the pool my mom would go to as a girl. They have a nice swimming pool and a cool tube slide. Cruz and I went down the slide several times together. I thought Alegra would want to go for sure, but she didn't. She was just loving wearing her frog floaty and swimming around in the pool with Ezra. In the middle of the night Thursday night Alegra had a high fever. I thought it might just be from having such a fun busy day. After I would give her medicine on Friday she would get better for a bit. We did take her to Teton Village with the gang because I really wasn't sure what was wrong. She hung out laying in the stroller most of the day though. They have all of these cool things to do at Village. Cruz loved going on the trampoline thing that you hook up to harnesses and jump super high. Cruz also suited up with his older cousins to go mountain biking. The other boys had a "bike teacher" that was going to take them on the course. Cruz was all set to go but the teacher didn't feel totally comfortable taking him. There are some stepper down hill parts on the course and he just wasn't sure Cruz could break well enough. So the other boys went and Cruz rode the practice loop. He seemed o.k. not going. We usually don't go and do all of these things when we go up to Idaho but Rich, Katie and their kids hadn't been up to Idaho in 2 years and they were trying to pack it all in in just a few days. We just tagged along for the fun!! :) With Alegra begin sick she was up most of the night again on Friday night and for some reason Lexi has been waking up a lot to eat at night the past 3 weeks. I am willing to feed her because she is so thin but it is starting to make me very tired. Saturday morning a woke up pretty worked. My mom took the kids for a couple of hours so I could take a nap. After my nap I decided to drive back to SLC because if I had another bad night I don't know if I could do it alone again. So we loaded up the minivan and headed back home at about 1:00 p.m. The kids did great both there and back. I was a little sad to leave because they were all going out on the boat but I figure we will be back soon, hopefully! :) Driving home it came to me what Alegra has though. Her fever finally broke early Saturday morning. She kept complaining her mouth hurt and I thought she meant her throat but then it came to me, she has Hand-Foot-Mouth. You get a high fever with that, loss of appetite, sores on the hands, feet, and mouth, and she keeps sticking her hands in her mouth. Cruz luckily had that so he won't get it again but I think Lexi will get it soon. It is a highly contagious virus. Alegra seems to be doing a lot better today!!

Legs checking out the bear cubs. She was so excited to go swimming she just wore her swimsuit all day (which has been pretty typical this summer). This is before she got sick.

Some of the rides

Alegra, Walt, and Nicholas

Cruz and Clara. They have kind of a tumultuous friendship. Some times they are so on and sometimes they are so off.

The boys suiting up!

My tough guy!

Clara got a horse ride because the boys got a bike ride. After Cruz didn't ride we went over to watch Clara. Clara still had about 10 minutes left on her horse and she was done riding. Cruz got to take a quick ride (with Grandma leading him). When he was out riding he said to Grandma, "Lets go back, this horse is too bouncy, I would rather ride the toy horse (below)."
