Today was the Little Cottonwood Canyon ride that our friends participate in. Shawn and the kids rode their "train" from Snowbird to Alta. Lexi and I went to church and then meet them up at the top afterwards. The fall leaves are just perfect right now.

Alegra's mishaps
So Alegra has had a pretty rough week, to say the least. I posted a few weeks back that she had Croup. Well, as the doctor said, the croup turned into a bad cold. The bad cold turned into an ear infection (which we didn't know). She had a minor rupture last Wednesday evening/Thursday morning. Luckily Lexi had a doctor appointment on Friday so we took Alegra with us. Dr. Pete confirmed she had ruptured her ear but he thought it looked liked it was on the mend. He did call in some antibiotics but we thought we wouldn't get them unless she got worse. She seemed fine all weekend and even on Monday and Tuesday, then Tuesday afternoon hit and she started screaming about her ear. Luckily I ran down to Walgreens and picked up the antibiotics. It didn't bring relief fast enough for Alegra though. She was miserable most of the night. By morning her ear was oozing and she had majorly ruptured it again. Then Saturday came......she was running into the house from the garage to get more peanuts (I was in the garden and Shawn was in the garage pumping up his tire to go on a ride) when all of a sudden she crashed. She fell on the steps leading into the house. I didn't see it but her mouth was all bloody. She pushed a bunch of teeth up into her gums a bit and her lips, gums, and tongue were bleeding. It was a mess and she was in total pain. We called the pediatric dentist but they didn't think we needed to bring her in. I am going to call and try and get her in tomorrow, but the poor thing is totally swollen on her mouth and she is talking funny. My hope is that she didn't damage her teeth too bad. We will see, it just kills me to see her mouth swollen though.

I LOVE FALL
It has been amazing the past couple of weeks. The leaves are gorgeous and we have had perfect weather. The kids have loved being able to play outside and not get too hot. This cute picture is of Alegra wanting to hold Lexi one afternoon when we were playing outside. I love that Alegra crossed her legs to hold her.

Fall Fun!
We have been enjoying beautiful fall weather here. Shawn rigged up the kids bikes and trailer so they could go all together. I thought it looked pretty cool!

6 Months
Lexi turned 6 months on the 19th of this week (Wednesday). She is getting so big. She is so expressive and her little legs are getting strong too. She is still tall and thin. We went to the doctor yesterday for her 6 month check. Lexi weighs 14 lbs. 8 oz (21%), she is 27 inches tall (89%), and her head is 42 cm (36%). People comment that she looks rather petite. I do think she is skinnier than the other two. We are getting over thrush but she still has a runny nose. I did have Dr. Pete check her ears though to make sure there was no infection, luckily they looked good. We took Alegra with us to the appointment because I was pretty sure her one eardrum ruptured and sure enough, she had an ear infection. Like when she was a baby, she seems much better once it ruptures. We are actually holding off on giving Alegra the medication because she hasn't complained of ear pains since Wednesday night during the middle of the night when it probably ruptured. I switched Lexi to Oatmeal to try and help her constipation problems. She is rather stuffed and so I am trying oatmeal, adding more baby prunes to her diet, and water. If that doesn't help in a few days Pete said to call him and we probably need to go another route. I hope I can get her more regular on our own. Lexi is putting pressure on her arms when she is on her stomach. She rolls all over the place. She likes to laugh at the kids. She can follow a tissue when it is dropped. She is just so dang cute. I really could just eat her up!!!
Donut
Some times when I am grocery shopping I offer the kids a donut so I can concentrate in the store. This shopping trip I only had Alegra and most of the time she is pretty easy to shop with, she likes to help me. Today she really wanted a donut, so I said she could have one if she sat in the car part and ate it so I could shop quick. She did just that. I didn't hear a peep from her. I drove the cart up to pay and looked inside and this is how I found her! At least she followed directions. There was frosting EVERYWHERE!

State Fair with Grandpa Frye
Grandpa Frye flew into SLC late Friday night to go on a fishing trip with some of his buddies in the west. The rest of the guys flew in today, but he came early so he could spend some time with us. Alegra, Cruz, Shawn, and Grandpa Frye went on a hike up Red Pine on Saturday morning while I canned, they had a blast. Then Saturday afternoon we headed to the zoo, but it was closed for some event. We decided to go across town and go to the State Fair. The kids had a blast. We saw all the farm animals and we let them play the dart game and picking the ducks game. Each of those games you were an "automatic winner" so they both walked away with several stuffed animals, which made them happy. We picked up some High Note Thai food to have at home and had a nice night playing with Grandpa. Today Cruz had his Primary Progam and Grandpa Frye and Grandma Raddon came to watch. Cruz was a little hyper and it showed. I guess we will work on his behavior for next time :).
Canning
My mom and I were busy little bees canning peaches both Friday night and Saturday. I had 2 boxes of peaches and we filled 24 quart sized jars, yippee! I thought this year was much more easy than last year. It was actually fun!! I might try applesauce this week and a chutney I heard about too!

Cruz's Fun Run at School
Today was Cruz's fun run at school today. The kids raised money for their school and then ran around the track for 20 minutes today. They had snacks and drinks for the kids after the run and they even had a raffle. Cruz won a huge blow up basketball. Alegra and I went and ran a few laps with Cruz. When it was finished he was like, "that was a long time!" It was also crazy sock day at school today, thus the crazy socks!!
So tired and sweaty!!

Pack Attack!
Last night was the Packers vs. Bears Football game. All the kids have Packers clothing (which I bought) but since I am from Chicago I can't deny my own home team!! We had fun watching the game and eating popcorn.

Thrush and Croup
Yes, Lexi and I have thrush again and poor Alegra has Croup. The past few nights have been really bad with Alegra. She has been getting up, uncomfortable, and not able to breath that well. I called our doctor this morning and Wednesdays are his day off. I decided we didn't need another terrible night so I called our friend Kathy's office and got an appointment with her. She said Alegra had Croup and gave her a dose of medicine in her office and gave me a pill to take home that should help alleviate the barking hoarse cough. While we were there she noticed (it isn't too hard to notice) Lexi's mouth. I told her that we had thrush again but this time the violet medicine didn't seem to be as effective. She prescribed me some Nystatine for me and Lexi. Hopefully this will help both of us. It has been a little rough because Lexi has also been getting up alot at night and I am not sure if it because she is uncomfortable or she is just getting used to me coming in to check on her. I think once I know we are all better I need we need to do the "cry out" to get some good hours of sleep!
Sweet, Sweet Alegra....so prone to injury and accident. She constantly has a scratch on her face, a bump on her forehead, or a band aid on her knee.
My purple mouth baby!
Everything is purple, it is sort of annoying. Look at the toes of her jammies, purple!
