I can't believe it, Cruz is in kindergarten right now as I write. I gave him the book "The Kissing Hand" last night and Shawn read it to him before he went to bed. It is the cutest story. It is about a mommy raccoon giving her baby raccoon a kiss on the palm of his hand that he can take to school with him. Whenever he looks at his palm he can think/feel about how much his mommy loves him. The baby raccoon then goes on to give the mommy raccoon a kiss on her hand. It is so tender and I definitely teared up last night while hearing it be read. I probably need the little kiss on my hand more than he needs his kiss. Cruz was excited all morning to go. We are more used to morning school, so the afternoon school will be an adjustment. Cruz really wanted to take the bus (I really wanted to drive him the first day) but my neighbor told me she lets her kids take the bus on the first day and then she goes to school to see them into the classroom, so that is what we did. We got to the bus stop about 10 minutes early he was so excited. Actually, what happened was I took him outside to take some pictures. I told him I was going inside to get the girls loaded up in the van and then we would drive to the bus stop. I got the girls loaded and looked around and Cruz was no where to be seen. I walked around the side of the house and he was half way down the sidewalk, walking to the bus stop with his huge backpack on. He is very ready!! :) I told him he could keep walking and I drove with the girls to meet him. His friend Lizzy Pugh is at his bus stop too. We snapped a few pictures at the bus stop and then waited for the bus. He will get on the bus at about 12:30 and school starts at 12:55. After seeing him on the bus. Christy (Lizzy's mom) and I jumped in the minivan with the girls and drove over to the school. It was so fun to see all the kids dressed up and so excited with their parents. Cruz looked very nice and he even had green spikes (at his request). He was so excited! He ran from the bus to get in line, not even a stop to give me a kiss, I guess that is good, he definitely isn't clingy or scared!!! Mrs. Oakeson is his teacher and that is who we wanted, she is the best. I am so excited for him to learn, meet new friends, and enjoy school. I just can't believe it! I love my little man!
