Perfect Spring Ski and Tailgate!

Yesterday we had a great family adventure.  Grammy came over to watch Lexi when I put her down for her morning nap about 10:15.  The rest of us headed up to the ski hill.  We went to Snowbird on a sunny (about 70 degree) day.  It was beautiful.  We all skied to Wilber, went up Wilber, skied over to Gadzoom and then Cruz and I skied Gadzoom while Alegra and daddy went back to the truck to get the grill started up.  Alegra LOVES to ski but she really doesn't turn, she just does snow plow straight down so her legs get really tired, especially on the steeper stuff.  She really doesn't listen to us either, we might have to do lessons next year for her!!  Cruz is doing really well.  He is doing nice turns, using poles,  and doing hockey stops!

Once Cruz and I were done skiing we went to the truck to meet Alegra and dad.  Our friend Scott Schoenback a.k.a. ChickenButt parked next to us and planned on grilling out too. His gang meet us a little later. His girlfriend Lisa, her son Collin, and Scott's niece Amanda were with him.  We had great brats, watermellon, chips, and carrots. It was a yummy tailgate lunch.  Later in the afternoon we came down and worked in the yard, it was a great Saturday!

I asked Lexi to give her baby a kiss.  I love the open mouth kiss, she gives me a lot of those!! I LOVE HER KISSES AND SNUGGLES!

"This is the Place" Village

The kids and I went to "This Is The Place" village after school today. Cruz gets off the bus around 2:07 and I had the girls already in the car ready to go. The Village closes at 5:00, but we had time to do the things we wanted. We wanted to go right now because they have baby animals out the kids can hold and touch.  We first went to the baby animal area.  Then we rode ponies.  On our way to our next activity we stopped in the ol' time doughnut store and ate some really yummy mini doughnuts.  We then headed over to the stream where the kids can mine for gold. Cruz could have stayed there for hours.  We finally talked him into doing this train ride around the pond and then we caught the "big train" back to the beginning of the village.  It is a very fun place for all of us. Lexi was such a trooper.  She missed her afternoon nap so we could go but she just chilled in the stroller the entire time, golden!

Lexi woke up super early and super happy today!  She is just the cutest!

 
After getting Lexi dressed and ready for the day I set about to get breakfast cleaned up in the kitchen. She crawled over to the play room and was totally entertaining herself with her kitchen.  She is really liking to pull herself up to stand at things these days!

Our builder

Cruz loves to build. He builds with Legos, he builds with magna tiles, he builds with these connect things. I came around the corner and saw this little thing in the carpet. We went on an errand today and he knew the store we were going to had these gummy frogs. He asked me if I would buy him them (before we left). I told him no.  I said if he wanted to buy them himself with his own money he could.  He brought $3 crumpled up dollars to the store. They were only $2 dollars for the bag.  He loves these gummy little creatures. He already has snakes and lizards.  Alegra promised to do jobs for me to get the butterflies. I think we have the entire gummy collection now!!  But, back to my point, I love to see Cruz's creativity!!

Finally starting to warm up....a bit!

It was finally warm enough to get some swinging in this afternoon. It was the only time during the bewitching hours from 4-5:30 that Cruz and Alegra weren't at each other. Cruz loves to tease and Alegra loves to whine. Some days are definitely better than others, but lately they seem to be at each other. Maybe I should just always put them on the swings! :)

I was trying to get a picture of Lexi's rather LARGE front teeth. They are so cute, and kind of big, and pretty spread out!  I love them.
